Von and I have spent most of the last 15+ winters in Australia . Although we love our home on Waiheke Island in New Zealand, we, occasionally, like to travel elsewhere for a change of pace. We've, also, housesat in various locations in New Zealand. Von is a retired teacher and I'm a retired RN/midwife. We're an active, senior couple.

We love animals and have many references that we could provide along with a police report. Besides dogs and cats, we have cared for sheep, alpacas, chooks, birds, and even an axolotl!

We've always had very positive experiences house sitting and appreciate the importance of feeling comfortable about leaving one's pets and home while away. Unfortunately, our cat passed away a few years ago, so we get our animal "fix" while in Australia and consider it a real plus--we have canine and feline friends all over Oz and New Zealand!

We'll be heading over to Sydney in late June to do a housesit for 3 weeks, ending on 23 July and would love to head north to Northern Queensland after that (preferably Magnetic Island or Townsville) after that.

We'd love to hear from anyone that might be interested in having us sit for them!

Jan & Von we’re wonderful house sitters. They took great care of Hamish and took him on lots of fabulous walks. The house was clean and tidy when we got home and they had watered our veg garden. They were very accommodating when we arrived home a day early and even cooked dinner for us that night. We would have no hesitation in recommending Jan & Vin as house sitters.

We were delighted to have Janet and Von house/pet sit for us. Communication was great and they really went out of their way - even replacing a kitchen utensil which had broken as well as leaving extra bits in our pantry. Would highly recommend Janet & Von to house/pet sit for anyone.

What an absolutely wonderful couple!. Janet and Vaughn were just the loveliest couple and took such great care of our fur babies during the week we went away. They were super lovely and took great care of our wee dog, taking her everywhere they went, and cuddling the cats at every opportunity. Our home was well cared for and much enjoyed. They were friends with our 3 dogs within seconds of them arriving..We came home to very happy and contented animals and would love them to come back at some stage if it suited them . We had great communication and were totally relaxed about them being in our home .They took great care of everything .. It was a shame the Covid level 3 lockdown prevented them from getting around the area..
