Looking for a mature, reliable house sitter with exceptional experience with pets? 🐱🐶

I hope to be your trusted pet and house sitter. I've ran my own home-based pet sitting services in Malaysia for 3 years. I am home proud, creative, and cherish community, and I am looking for a home with similar values.

EXPERIENCE IN PET CARE & HOUSE SITTING

Rest assured, your pets will be treated with care from the heart. I am driven by curiosity and empathy, while my work ethic upholds integrity and responsibility. I believe gaining trust from the pet pawrent is as important as gaining it from the pet.

I have had long term pet sitting experience for large breeds (eg. pitbull, caucasian shepherd), post-operation boarding care for both cats and dogs, and elderly pets/pets with special needs. I've handled up to 4 medium sized dogs on a walk 💪🏼😉

In addition, my pet care experience has covered acclimating rescued stray dogs and cats to domestic/urban living, and assisting in vet visitations/post-operation care. I have also handled guinea pigs and parrots.

I have been house sitting in Melb since June 23' at various suburbs with repeat house sits. An average duration of a house sit spans 3-4 weeks. I have handled hot tub maintenance, and assisted in home repair visitations.

WHY I STAND OUT AS A HOUSE SITTER

I have a strong sense of care and respect for my living space. Living independently since I hit 20 has equipped me with a good sense of managing and owning a home.

I do not smoke or consume recreational substances/alcohol. I am quite social and enjoy cooking up a feast! So I may be keen to host women's circles or have friends over for brunch during my stay (not a dealbreaker).

MY PLANS IN AUSTRALIA

I am not tied to work or long hours of any commitment. Instead, I am spending my time being active, tinkering on personal projects/self-study, engaging with locals, and being open to new experiences. I enjoy going on day hikes and basking in nature.

WORK/TRAVEL HISTORY

I have worked and travelled in the whole of the south island in NZ, and in several regions in USA (Alaska, Jersey Shore, West). This has equipped me with nifty street smarts on a nomadic lifestyle.

Other countries where I have travelled to are Bangladesh, SEA, Japan, UK, Canada. I have visited most states in Australia and have spent a student exchange in Melbourne back in 2015.

Running my own pet sitting business has been the longest working commitment I have had - it has been the most rewarding connecting with pets, co-operating with their pawrents, and having full autonomy over work brings out my full potential.

Lydia is the housesitter of your dreams. We left our previous dog, and our house, full of our treasures, in her care for six weeks and we couldn’t have been happier. She cared for our dog with such warmth and love, sending us gorgeous video updates and pictures every few days. She also had to manage a slightly hairy trip to the vet which she coped with superbly, making sure our dog was fine, and knowing we were a bit anxious, keeping us updated. Lydia was such an amazing house sitter for the two weeks we were away. We have two dogs that have health issues and Lydia was able to provide them with all the medication and love they needed. She walked them everyday and left the house spotless! Highly recommend her!

As well as leaving our home and garden looking cleaner than ever, she handled a couple of tricky, unforeseen health issues with our dog with aplomb and kept us constantly up-to-date with videos and photos of our pets while we were away! We wouldn't hesitate to have her back in our house or to recommend her to others.

Lydia was the best pet sitter we could have asked for! She took care of our place like it was her own and enjoyed bonding with our cat Yana throughout her stay.
