Ivy & Ryan

Oh, hi there!

We are Ryan and Ivy, a child-free couple originally from the US who came to Australia in 2012. When we moved, we brought our three sausages with us, Thor, Mimi and Trevor. We wouldn't dare have left them behind. They have since gone to the place where all good dogs go, and we miss them terribly. They were all rescues. We're Sydney-based.

As for me (Ivy), I'm a travel writer and copywriter. My byline appears in the NZ Herald, Outback by RM Williams, Escape, International Traveller, Vacations and Travel, Stuff and others. I travel a lot, like, a lot lot. Because of this, I can't be a dog mum right now.

Ryan is a forensic accountant and a whiz with spreadsheets and tech. He travels often for his job as well.

I'm also a founder and director of a dachshund rescue organisation in the US, DREAM Dachshund Rescue. Over the years, we fostered MANY doggos, a safe place for them to land as they awaited their forever homes.

We are laid back, not big party people. We like exploring, reading, cooking, and of course, animals. We thought that over the holidays when neither of us will be travelling for work, we could get our animal fix, stay in some sweet digs and help out some people who'd like to get away for the season. It's a win-win.
