We are a responsible family and we consider ourselves pet sitters first and formost. We also provide a security presence for your house and we always leave it as clean ( or cleaner!) than we find it. Our motivation to house sit is to see places we may not usually visit although you can be assured that your pets are our first priority and that we appreciate the trust you put in us to look after them and respect your home and belongings.
We are clean and tidy non smokers & we will make sure all the little extras are done such as bringing the mail in, putting the bins out and watering gardens and indoor plants.
We have completed lots of house sits ( through different sites too) and received great endorsements but even before then, the children have been used to visiting and staying with grandparents with dogs so they have grown up learning how to approach animals, be gentle and how to behave in someone else's home.
Our family consists of 2 adults and 3 children 16, 14 & 10) we expect high standards of behaviour from our kids.
We are Swiss-Australian and home is in Hahnenkamm Chalet, Thredbo NSW (Peter is from Chur, Switzerland and I am from Perth WA originally).
We are residential managers for Hahnenkamm in Thredbo and have been here for nearly 5 years - it’s essentially one big professional housesitting job! You can find us on Facebook!
Peter has been a Chef for over 25 years. I have worked in Hospitality, the disability field and have recently finished my Diploma in Early childhood education. We Travelled around Australia from 22/12/16 to January 2019 with our children who we schooled via distance education from Queanbeyan. We have house sat our way around Australia and stayed at campgrounds in between.
We don't have any pets of our own (not allowed in the national park) but we would love to look after yours (assuming they are fine around children!).
We are reliable and honest and this is reflected in our employment references. We are friendly and hoping to offer a great house sitting and pet care service.

No rating Melanie and Peter Dsch and their three children stayed on our 2.2ha block with their campervan for over a fortnight. They had full access to our house during that time and it was left in spotless condition with nothing damaged. They also had to look after chickens and our dog, as well as water pots and lawns daily, For our convenience they moved in early and stayed on longer ot ensure effective handovers . Melanie, Peter and their 3 children were a pleasure to have stay at our house. They kept it spotlessly clean and tidy, kept the garden and pool well maintained and the animals were very happy. We would happily recommend them to others.

I thoroughly recommend Melanie to anyone who's a bit hesitant about the whole idea of having house sitters. Unfortunately Mel's husband was unable to accompany her and the children for this sit but Melanie managed everything beautifully. On arriving home my house was lovely and clean and my two labradors had been very well looked after. I cannot recommend Mel, Peter and the kids strongly enough. They took fantastic care of our house and our many pets. When we returned, the house had been spotlessly cleaned, our bedding had been washed and they had even left some food for us (which was a godsend after an international flight). I can only hope the next time we travel, they are still house sitting, as I would not hesitate to have them stay here again.

They cared for our much loved fur-kids while we were away to such an extent that we felt the dogs missed them when they left. No rating The Disch family house sat for me over the Xmas break. They are lovely to deal with, are very self sufficient and when I got home my dog Buddy and cat Carlo were very happy. In fact I think Buddy is more behaved than before! Melanie emailed me regularly during the stay and left the house clean and tidy. I would be happy to recommend and have them house sit again.
