We need a house sitter

South Western - South West

Alex

Hello, thank you for taking the time to view this ad, We live in a beautiful part of the South West - only a ten minute walk to the beach, 50 minute walk along the beachfront into Busselton town (10 minute drive). There is a bus route into town but its is only a couple of times a day, there are e-scooters to hire/park up less than a 5 minute walk away.
It is a quiet neighborhood with friendly residents. In our house you would have your own space in the form of our spare room with a queen size bed and bathroom (not en-suite but does have shower and bath). You would be welcome to use the all other main areas of the house as your own (the other private rooms being ours and our two young children's) we also have a pool available to cool off in on hot days.
Our dog is a 3 year old, spayed, mixed breed female called Lexi. She is a white & black spotted kelpie/lab/bull arab/wolfhound cross and is full of love and energy, She is very good natured as we have had her from a pup and she has grown up with kids. She knows the basic commands, 'wait', 'this way', 'sit', 'come' (see below) and does not snap or food guard, and loves nothing more than to go for a run on the park just 50metres away or the beach. She is quite good with recall but with a new person this would have to be learnt and managed! She does respond well to treats but does LOVE other dogs! If the person house sitting is not confident letting her off the lead for a run, we would understand this but she would then need more attention and games for mental stimulation at home please. She is very strong for her size even though she only weighs 25kg, she will walk with a harness and if needed a halti head guard. I say this only as if walking with an individual/couple she is a breeze, however she can pull if she sees another dog she knows and wants to get to, and this could catch someone off guard. Lexi has two walks a day, morning and afternoon at least 45 mins-1 hour each, but she will happily go for longer. One of these walks tend to be more 'sniffy' and the other hopefully with some off lead time. We have a long cable secured outside the front of our house for her to be clipped to if we are home and she enjoys spending some time out there watching the world go by. There are seats out the front if you wish to join her as she loves company! She has her own beds around the house and is not allowed on the furniture or sleeping on sofas or beds (she is not allowed on the carpets or in the bedrooms but most of our house is wood floor).
She has two meals a day, kibble diet with treats/bones, and has her own outdoor area for toileting. She is fully toilet trained and is excellent at night - will settle between 6.30pm-6.30am happily. Ideally we need someone who is going to be home with her most of the time, or working from home (we do have a workspace you are welcome to use). If she has had an hours walk in the morning then she is able to be left for up to 4/5 hours at home (inside as she can jump the fence!) and a walk upon return, but unfortunately she cannot be left alone for a full day. Really she just loves to be wherever her people are and very much enjoys a car ride (will eagerly get in the car to ride shot gun but will take a little persuading to get in the boot - got to be able to hang her head out the window!) travels well and chills out at cafes. Lexi is snake avoidance trained but if need be our local vet is less than ten mins away and is AMAZING. No medication is required and she has all the necessary vaccinations/flea treatments etc. regularly.
Gardening will be keeping an eye on the timed reticulation please and minimal pot watering. Thank you :)
Please check the dates as is nearer 4 weeks.
