Hi,

Our names are James and Emma and we have two daughters, 7 and 2, who have grown up on a steep hills block!

Our Adelaide Hills home is being rented out. We spent most of 2023 in NSW for work reasons, and enjoyed house sitting opportunities in the Adelaide Hills and eastern suburbs during 2024.

We have been pet owners (chooks, dogs, cats, horse) and have recently been house sitting in Hawthorndene for friends, who can provide a reference, and you can also view our recent house sitting reviews at Mylor, Carey Gully and Balhannah on a different house sitting website. We also house sat at Burnside for nearly 6 weeks through this website, and the owners would be happy to provide a reference.
Emma did house sitting when she was younger at quite a few hills and eastern suburb properties - looking after cats, dogs and sheep.
We recently looked after fish, rabbits, dogs (a vizsla and a golden retriever), 4 ponies, sheep and chickens, and have really enjoyed their company.

James works from home and Emma was on parental leave for two years, now working one day a week from home (bird ecologist at an NGO that is government funded).

We are looking ideally for Hills/Fleurieu properties, or eastern/southern suburbs.

Our 7yo loooves pets and would thoroughly enjoy playing with your pets gently for as long as they like, between their naps, and throwing balls etc! We really enjoy the company of animals and take their happiness and welfare seriously. Being home full-time we can give your pets, house and garden full attention and easily go on walks etc twice a day.

We look forward to hearing about any opportunities and are very happy to talk on the phone/zoom or meet at any stage.

After meeting Emma and James before we left we had full confidence that they would be fabulous house sitters and we weren't disappointed. It was so good to get home after 5 weeks away to find the house and garden both clean and tidy, we didn't have to do a thing! Additionally, Emma and James went out of their way to facilitate delivery to us in Greece via a third party of an important item we left behind. We came home to a spotlessly clean house and a dog who had great fun and did not miss us. Emma kept in touch and took on the care of one of the ponies who had just recently been diagnosed with EMS, quite a daunting task. We appreciated the photos she sent and the care she provided. We would welcome the family back if we travel again.
