A couple of French backpackers, living in a van, used to living with animals since childhood, we became foster families for many cats in our apartment in France! While traveling in Australia, we spent 3 months volunteering in an animal shelter, surrounded by all kinds of animals! Today, we really miss animals, so AussieHouseSitters is the solution!
Since childhood, Hugo and I have been surrounded by animals, especially dogs. We've known puppies and seniors alike, and have always loved their company.
Together, in our apartment, we decided to became a cat foster family with the Matou Street And Co association for 3 years. We have cared for more than a dozen cats who have gone on to find their forever homes. We're used to providing care and socialization, and patience is our key! At the same time, we carried out more or less regular cat-sittings for the association's contacts.
Lorie became foster manager for the same association for 2 years, with the role of finding families willing to take in cats in need on a temporary basis.
In Australia, our volunteering involved caring for 300 animals on a daily basis as part of a team of volunteers. We're as used to farm animals as we are to pets. In general, we are really handy and adaptable people.
With different applications, we have also done petsitting in Australia: dogs, cats, birds, turtles... don't hesitate to contact us! We can obviously send our reviews and referees :)

Lorie & Hugo are a lovely young couple who are caring, thoughtful, friendly, knowledgeable and Hugo is a great cook. They have a great love of animals and took very good care of our cat, Sammy and also watered my plants which saved them in this terrible heat. Because of the heat they stayed with us a few days before and after the sit which helped us get to know them better. They are very clean and left our house in a perfect way.
