Karen and Neil live in the metropolitan suburb of Seaford, southern Adelaide with their 2 Maltese Shih Tzu dogs Charlie & Sam. Nestled along the scenic South Australian coastline, Seaford Rise has a great blend of suburban comfort and seaside living, perfect for sitters wanting access to city conveniences while still enjoying a relaxed, coastal lifestyle.

We first heard about the concept of house sitting on Facebook. Someone posted on a Community forum looking for a house and pet sitter, and Aussie House Sitters was recommended by quite a few people, so I saved the post and decided to look you up when we needed to utilise it.

Like many owners using house sitters for the first time, Karen and Neil were understandably a bit nervous about how it would go however, their fears were put to rest as soon as they met their house sitters. 

Kerri and Rick were very friendly, easy going and most importantly, our 2 dogs took to them immediately. That meant we left feeling very comfortable with them in our house while we were away. 

We have 2 little Maltese Shih Tzu doggies who absolutely loved Kerri and Rick and followed them everywhere. We were kept up to date with photos and we were joking with the sitters not to take Charlie & Sam back home with them. The house was left in pristine condition, so good that we wouldn’t have known anybody had been there. Best of all, they fell in love with our beloved doggies.

We find house sitting always works best when you match with the right house sitters for your individual house and pet care needs. If you could offer any advice to people considering using house sitters, what would it be? 

Go with your gut feeling when viewing the profiles of sitters. We looked through several who were available for our allotted holiday dates, but went back to the ones who gave us the best vibe and we have no regrets. 

We plan on using house sitters when we go away again in 4 weeks’ time. We’ve already met up with our next sitters and are very confident with our choice. We have been very happy with the entire experience and have since recommended Aussie house sitters to many people.
