We are a retired professional couple from Cairns, having sold our business in '22 and decided to pack up our home, rent it out, so we could cruise up and down the Qld and NSW coast in our boat. After sailing down to SE Qld in '22 and enjoying the change of location, we sailed back to the GC from Sydney early '24 and have decided to come back to the land. Our home in Cairns, which we have now sold, had a pool and we were fastidious about maintenance, safety and cleanliness in the home and garden. We are currently building on acreage in the Lockyer Valley.
We are non-smokers and enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle. We are responsible and caring. Personal references are available on request. We are very flexible with long and short term periods as well as short notice appointments if we are not already sitting. We have experience with horses, donkeys, cattle, dogs, cats, chickens and ducks.
David and Marla were excellent house and pet sitters. Geoff and I could not been happier with the way they looked after our 2 dogs, the house and the yard. They went above and beyond all our expectations. Our house and gardens were in much better shape than we left them and the dogs were clearly upset to see them go. We highly recommend their services and hope we get another chance.

Not only were all of our animals incredibly cared for, doted on and spoiled with love, they also took incredible care of our home.
David fixed things that we have not been able to repair ourselves and was very proactive and busy all over the acreage - clearing weeds, mowing to name a few. Our property is certainly much better after we came home than when we left it!

We can’t speak highly enough about Marla and David. If you are fortunate enough to have them housesit for you rest assured that your fur kids and house will be in the best of hands. They went above and beyond expectations and we are eternally grateful.
We could not have been luckier to have David and Marla take care of our boy Dexter and our house.
Both were open and easy to talk with, and very knowledgeable about all the needs that we may have. From when they first contacted us to when they (sadly) drove off, they anticipated any needs our energetic boy might have, and went above and beyond to keep him happy and exercised.

David & Marla went above and beyond to care for our animals and home. We felt very comfortable while away that everything was ok. Wonderful to arrive home after a long drive to a neat and tidy home and happy animals. Could not recommend them more.
David and Marla were our first ever house sitters we had look after our home and old girl Lulu (dog). What a find 💛 ever so friendly, great communication, even the odd cute pic which our worried daughter loved 🙏 the house was left spotless and our Lulu totally spoilt. I'm sure they will be missed. Would recommend David and Marla to any people needing an amazing couple to house sit your home and care for your pets.
David and Marla were absolutely amazing!! They made huge efforts to get to know us and what we needed before we left, which really put my mind at ease. We were very comfortable leaving my 7 horses, 15 older steers and 6 young weanling steers in their care for 7 weeks. Marla sent me daily updates, photos and videos and always contacted me to ask if she was unsure about anything at all. Having David and Marla housesit our little farm felt like winning the lottery. We have a number of animals who didn’t miss us a jot due to the genuine love and care they were getting from David and Marla. We live on 12 acres and even though we didn’t ask or expect them to, we came home to quite a few things around the place being repaired and in better condition than we left them, including some very professional looking carpentry repairs to one of our carports! It's not easy leaving a farm in the hands of house sitters that you have only just met, but all our concerns were for no reason, they handled all the farm jobs with ease, the odd bit of fence repair, handling stock and great care of our horses, donkey and dogs.

David and Marla took exceptional care of my home and garden. From my first conversation with the lovely couple, I knew that I had been very lucky to find them. They went beyond what was asked of them, and they dealt with every problem that arose with excellent communication and follow through. They liaised with other people as necessary and left my garden shining with health and my home in an immaculate state. Happy travels David and Marla, it was a joy to meet you.
