Hi, We are a retired Canberra couple, Amanda (56) and Mal (61). Now our children have flown the coop, our dream is to travel this amazing country and combine that with house sitting. We have 9 children between us and 4 grandkidlets!!
I am a ex nurse and Mal is an ex IT Manager.
We both have a love of animals, meeting new people, camping, 4wding, travelling, being outdoors and discovering new places around Australia - we also now have our own caravan and would appreciate or prefer a housesit with room to accomodate our home on wheels. Our caravan is a 20 foot van and requires an area of 9 x 2.5 metres.
We have been housesitting for almost 2 years, with sits ranging from 5 days to 6 weeks. We have looked after dogs, cats, chickens, fish, ferrets and also sheep! We have also looked after animals with simple and complex medical needs.
We have also had frequent repeat Housesits that are not advertised and we have made some wonderful ongoing friendships with pet owners (and of course their amazing pets) who we see as often as we can.
Personally we have owned dogs and cats, fish, guinea pigs, rabbits, birds and interacted with many farm animals throughout our lives.
We enjoy gardens & gardening - both indoors and outdoors and are happy to look after and maintain any gardening requirements you have.
We are house proud, efficient, well organised, polite, and courteous people who have skills ranging from managing a Nutrimetics Business, being a Personal Assistant, Nursing for the Australian Defence Force, Full-Time Mum, and Co-Managing an Air BnB. Mal has experience with Senior Management within Government IT and IT Enterprise level skillset, gardening, managing an Air BnB, Full-Time Dad, retail experience in a Camping Store and much more!
We both have current Driver's Licenses with no loss of demerits or fines and can provide current Police Checks.

5 stars for everything for Mal and Amanda. They did a wonderful job looking after our house and 4 dogs for 6 weeks. It gave us great peace of mind knowing that our dogs were happy and well cared for. The house was cleaner when we came home than when we left. We wish Mal and Amanda all the best for their future travels and hope that our paths will cross again in the future. Highly recommended for any future house sits!!

Amanda and Mal were an excellent choice to look after the house and my golden retriever Charlie while I was a way for 6 weeks. They communicated well from the outset and clearly knew how to look after things. They looked after Charlie so well, taking her for walks and even her regular vet appointment. The house was very well looked after and they even helped with getting me to and from the airport, I could not be happier and would easily recommend them to anyone looking for a house and/or pet ... We were more than happy with our lovely house sitters Amanda and Mal.
They looked after our gentle dog Olive and high maintenance cat Fudge without being phased by the fact that Fudge required medicating three times a day………..a big ask!
My pot plants, which I have a lot of, thrived and the house was clean and tidy on our return.
I would highly recommend Amanda and Mal to anyone who requires house sitters as we would be more than happy to have them sit again.

We highly recommend Mal and Amanda who house sat for us recently. We hit it off immediately as they were so easy to talk to and we had similar interests. They both took to our old cat easily and he quickly ruled the household keeping them amused with his expectations, which they took in good stead. They were flexible with dates which was very much appreciated and the house left spotless when they left. We look forward to getting together with them again in the future.

Amanda and Mal looked after our dog and house for 6 weeks. They communicated regularly with messages and photos of Max. It was wonderful to arrive home to a happy dog and clean house, the chocolates were a nice surprise. They truly are animal lovers and I would recommend Amanda and Mal to house sit.

Amanda and Mal looked after our 2 doggies, 8 chickens ,house and garden for 10 days.
Communication was excellent and they even gifted us beautiful chocolates and made sure we had milk and bread etc. For when we got home.
The care they gave our pets was amazing and Mal did an awesome job mowing our large yards.
I recommend Amanda and Mal for any house sit they are interested in.

It is always a daunting time when you want to go away and have animals that need caring for. Along came Amanda and Mal. They where amazing. It was pouring rain when we left them to deal with 2 needy and spoilt dogs. Lots of chickens from a week old to laying hens and even an incubator with eggs. Everything was extremely well cared for and it was great to walk into our house late at night to see flowers from our garden and the house beautiful and clean. Being our first time using this site we were a little nervous to begin with but were very quickly put at ease when we met Amanda and Mal. They came over to meet us and the dogs a few weeks prior to our trip and we could tell straight away they would be great. Communication was fantastic, Amanda gave us updates while we were away and the house was in perfect condition when we returned from our trip. When we arrived home the dogs were so happy and it was like they wanted to tell us about the ...
