I live in Melbourne.
I'm Retired/Pet Pleaser/Home Keeper.
I'm a 54 year old, I hold a current drivers license, I also come with multiple glowing references (17) and a police check. I'm a mature, quiet, non-smoker, non-drinker, clean, tidy, honest, trustworthy, calm, easy-going, cheerful kind of person and a good communicator, I'm respectful of peoples personal space..
I have learnt to care for a variety of animals and also administer medication. (injections and tablets).
Here are some of the animals I have looked after for friends, family, neighbours, and now for numerous people on a housesitting website..
e.g. horses, cows, alpacas, goats, calves, dogs, cats, chooks, ducks, geese, rabbits, guinea pigs, cockys, budgies, turtles and fish.
I can meet you in person or do phone call, zoom or facetime whatever is most convenient for you to make the start of your break easier and relaxing.
Because after all it's about you, your house and your fur loved ones and what's needed to make your break happen the easiest way possible.
I take delight in making sure your return home is easy, relaxing and as how you left it, like you hadn't been away at all.
I send photos and updates on your fur kids and anything else that pops up regarding your pets or house. e.g. taking your pets to the vet on your behalf, Letting workmen in, Packages. etc.
Due to my early retirement it has meant I have picked up an incredible hobby of house sitting, I have been house sitting on this site for over four years. I have met some wonderful people to say the least and also seen some amazing places around this beautiful country.
Unfortunately I lost both of my fur babies in 2021,
R.I.P Axel and Gus, I will miss you boys every day.....
I finally got my bucket list dog, a French bulldog puppy in early, 2023 his name is Duke..
Duke is house trained, he is crate trained, he knows some basic training. Duke has been socialised with a variety of dogs big and small .
If there’s any chance I can bring Duke along with me on the housesit it would be muchly, appreciated…
As I have nowhere else to put him other than the kennels, and I really don’t want to do that if I’m on a housesit for you if it can be avoided…..
I like going to the movies, concerts and afl games. (don't hold this one against me, I'm a Carlton supporter). I'm an amateur photographer and enjoy day trips to new and unknown places if the house sit permits me to.
I grew up on a dairy farm just outside of Warrnambool. I was introduced to an array of animals at a young age and I learnt how to interact with them and learnt about a variety of medication's.
I had a horse at a very young age. I was involved in pony club, jumping, trail rides, gymkhana and I also showed my horse at country shows.
I would help my parents around the farm, on weekends and school holidays with milking cows, getting cows and calves in and feeding calves. I learnt to drive a car, tractor and motorbike on the farm.
I lived in Melbourne in the early 90's for work in the racehorse industry, that lead me into working with polo horses in both of those roles, I would look after horses in my care.
Unfortunately the early mornings finally took its toll on me and I left the racing industry altogether and moved into cleaning then into car detailing. I rented properties while living in Melbourne and I treated those places like they were my own kept them clean and tidy on the inside and out, mowing the lawns and just general tidiness around the house.
Family and farming finally drew me back home to Warrnambool to work in the farming industry part of my work contract, I would live on the farm and they would provide me with a house to live in. Under these agreements I would keep the house tidy, clean and mow the lawns keep the garden tidy and trim back trees.
As part of my role on the farm would be to get the cows in, milk them, feed them and some times dry them off getting them ready for carving.
I don't want to bore you to death with the many mundane jobs around the farm.
My biggest passion of my was been intrusted with the heard health management.
I would care for sick cows, calves and other farm animals medication when required.
I would feed, water and check up on sick cows and calves. I also treated cows for infection, pink eye, milk fever, grass tetany and lame cows by putting blocks on their feet and give them medication.
I'd go out several times a night to check on calving cows and if required assist them with carving.
I've worked in this amazingly hard and at times unrewarding industry for over 12 years and I've loved every moment of it and I wouldn't change it for the world.
It's with a heavy heart I've had to leave the farming industry.
Due to a work accident I have gone into early retirement.
Hope this gives you a little insight on myself.
Thanks for reading and possibly considering me as your house and pet sitter.
I look forward to hearing from you.
If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
Regards
Ann-Maree N Duke 🐾
