Practical, mature, couple of newly retired Kiwis, one self employed, one a newly retired nurse. -------------------------------------------------------- We are currently looking for house-sits in Victoria and NSW, for June and/or between late August and late October 2025. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- We have experience house-sitting in NZ and Australia. We are non smokers, reliable, clean & tidy living. We are conscientious and will care for your property and animals as if they were our own. We try to maintain their routines, to lessen their anxiety in your absence. We will interact with them, take dogs on walks and excursions, and follow your instructions on the feeding and care of your pets/animals.
We enjoy caring for and having the companionship of animals, and have owned and worked lifestyle farms most of our lives. We will be leaving behind in NZ our much loved 'Buddy' our Shih Tzu-Poodle cross, with our home and lifestyle block, in the care of house-sitters. We have experience with a range of domestic animals, both large and small, birds, fish and even the occasional reptile. We have had our own, and cared for others, horses, cattle, sheep, dogs, cats, birds. We are able to do light farming duties such as moving and feeding stock, and light horse care. We are also happy to do light gardening, lawns, pool and property maintenance and security.
We have also had the pleasure of housesitting while an elderly relative remained in the home.
Annette is a registered nurse with experience in care of the elderly, community nursing, and practice nursing in medical centres. Charles has been in retail management, retirement village management, teaching, and now self employed with a home based on-line business.
We have family in various areas of Australia and have house sat in NSW and Queensland. In 2025 we want to visit family in Port Macquarie, Melbourne and Sydney. We like to be near family, but independent, and find house sitting perfect for this as we also enjoy exploring the areas where we are staying. We are also keen to avoid another NZ winter!
We have reviews available from our previous house-sitting year in Australia in 2018, 3 months in 2022 and 3 months over winter of 2024. We have current NZ police reports available.
We will respect your property and privacy and not have others in your home, unless agreed to in advance.

Communicate with, my home was super clean and tidy with fresh flowers picked from my property and even some windows were cleaned. My animals were all cared for, my horses feet were cleaned daily and regular updates during their stay. Definitely recommend this couple for any kind of house sit large or small in the future.

Annette and Charles were everything we had hoped for and more. From the initial inquiry right through to completion communication was easy and we're able to negotiate outcomes for us . Annette kept in touch throughout the sit and updated me on my pets well-being. We returned home after Annette had departed and our home is just as welder it and a contented pet. Would recommend Annette and Charles to anyone considering them for a housesit.

Annette and Charles were the perfect house sitters. Our house was sparkling and our pets content. While caring for our home the weather was shocking and our fence blew over in the wind. Charles and Annette fixed it all and were very gracious about the whole thing. Telling us not to worry.Our home and pets were very safe in their capable hands.

Charles and Annette were excellent house sitters. They were calm and easy going with a no fuss attitude which was greatly appreciated. Our small dog Bobby was very happy when we arrived home and our house and gardens were left in an immaculate condition. Annette and Charles took Bobby for a walk each day and watered the garden when we had a dry spell. We arrived home to a cooked meal, milk and flowers on the bench. Annette & Charles exceeded my expectations of caring for our little hobby farm. My paddock animals (horses, chooks & ducks) we're fed, watered locked up & let out as lovingly as I'd hoped for.They sent me regular photos & updates whilst on my holiday. They also cared for my elderly Mum. She had a lovely dinner prepared for her & was very comfortable with them here. She felt very safe & secure in the knowledge they were staying here. Annette's Nursing experience wasn't needed but we all slept ... MOREAnnette & Charles exceeded my expectations of caring for our little hobby farm.
