About me
I am a friendly, easy-going and open-minded person who is respectful of other people's lifestyle(s) and space.

Two of my life-long interests are traveling and animals. This platform helps me fulfill both of them in the best possible way. I have been fortunate enough to do some pet-sitting assignments through this site and am grateful for all the amazing experiences and memories!

Why I want to house sit
I want to explore different places, neighborhoods and communities while feeling like I am home away from home, in the company of animal companions.

My experience
I have varied pet sitting experiences which has (so far) included cats, dogs, reptiles, birds, fish and small mammals.
I have a calm manner and softer disposition which works well with pets and helps them feel more comfortable.

Sasha is a wonderful housesitter. My home was left very clean, and with everything as I left it. My cats were very happy when I got home, seemed relaxed and happy due to Sasha's care and overall kindness. Communication throughout the sit was clear and reassuring. I was very happy leaving my cats and home in Sasha's care. Additionally, Sasha is a genuinely kind and lovely person who it was a pleasure to meet, and I would be delighted to have them sit again in the future.

Sasha looked after my dogs at short notice for a weekend whilst I was away with work. He was easy to communicate with. Whilst I didn’t meet him in person, over the phone he was super lovely and had a gentle sound to his personality. I felt at ease to leave him to care for my two dogs. The dogs seemed happy on my return and the house was kept tidy. I would totally reccomend Sasha!

Sasha was an exceptional pet sitter and a house sitter too! Boozie adored him and my house was really well looked after. After I came back, place was super clean and there was a welcome back present waiting for me, which was super sweet. Sasha helped me with my luggages as well, otherwise would have been so hard for me to bring everything up. No brainer he was a perfect house/pet sitter and will use him again. If needed :)

Sasha took great care of our two adult cats. Sasha also provided updates to us while we were away and sent us photos. The house was spotless and he even cleaned the fridge. We would love to have him housesit for us again.

Sasha looked after our cat, extensive gardens and house plants for three weeks. The cat is OK, the gardens are OK, the plants are OK. But we would have liked him to be more proactive in checking with us when he was uncertain about things, and some aspects of his care of our home were below par. I think he is well-intentioned and does try, but we will look elsewhere next time.

MERILYN (Carlton NSW, May 2024 - 2 weeks 5 nights)

Sasha: I feel that the review is not entirely accurate as there was miscommunication involved on both sides. Before leaving, Merilyn went over the routine with me in which she mentioned specifically that I did not have to do ANY cleaning. "I will clean when I come back". As well, she said that Asher ... Before leaving, Merilyn went over the routine with me in which she mentioned specifically that I did not have to do ANY cleaning. "I will clean when I come back". As well, she said that Asher is an outdoors cat so you don't have to worry about litter at all. "It will be an easy sit". The house has a big garden and includes Asher's "bed" hidden under a table which itself is in a covered porch area, out of sight. I hardly saw Asher in the garden as he likes to roam around the nearby streets and usually hung out in the front of the house waiting to be fed. As soon as he was finished eating, he would wander off to roam the neighborhood. Additionally, they asked me to help myself to any food in the fridge but it was mostly meat. Because I am a vegetarian, I declined and said that I would be mostly getting my own food through Uber eats. Just to clarify, I had my own unit downstairs with a fridge and kitchen that was separate from theirs. I only went upstairs to water their plants which were being kept in the living room, separate from the kitchen. They had locked their bedroom and study which is fine but as far as I understood I was to keep to my unit downstairs. When they returned, I stayed in the downstairs unit for another week while they were upstairs. They did not mention or address anything/concerns to/with me during that time. I had asked/offered to help and/or clean as needed a few times. After I left, they said that Asher had puked in his "hidden bed" and that I had not cleaned it up. I rarely saw Asher in the back garden and it never crossed my mind to check the bed because it was not occupied while I was there. As well, it was not stated in the Sitter notes and they never mentioned that it was something that I needed to do. They said that I had not cleared their fridge. Again, this was not made clear to me or mentioned in the Sitter notes. I had my own fridge downstairs which I used and cleaned out. They had numerous potted plants in the living room and had told me to contact their daughter if there were any questions. During my stay, the flowers of two of the flowering plants started wilting. Their daughter came over on the weekend, had a look and said that it was nothing to worry about as some flowers die etc. "I wouldn't worry them about it during their travels". When I told Merilyn about the plants a little later, she mentioned that she would have liked to be contacted. However, I was simply going by what the daughter (their designated person) had said. Also, I did not think at that time that a few flowers wilting was something serious to concern them with. Lastly, after she returned, Merilyn made some "culturally inappropriate" comments about certain religions and practices. She is a Christian and asked me to accompany her to church and gave me some Christian literature to read. I did not attend church with her and I hope that she is not discontented with me because of that. I feel that some sitters might get offended by her views, particularly if they are from different cultures which is why I am mentioning it here. In hindsight, I have learned to always ask whether the fridge needs to be cleared and really ask for specificity in order to avoid miscommunication, among other things. As an aside, their daughter offered me to cat sit for her after this sit was done but I was already committed to another one so couldn't do it.

Sasha was great for watching my affectionate-but-with-boundaries elderly cat while I went back to the US for the Christmas holidays. They got along very well and it eased my mind to know she was in good hands while I was gone for a month.

Sasha was housesitting for a week in October. I posted my ad on short notice so I was glad he could make it. He had some questions in the beginning and would make sure to ask us when needed. Once he got acquainted to the house and pets, everything ran smoothly. My cats were very calm and happy when I came back. Thank you Sasha!

Sharoon house sat for me over the Christmas and New Year holidays and did a wonderful job. I came home to a much more relaxed cat and a clean house. He called daily for the first few days until he became comfortable, and thereafter we spoke briefly about every other day. I realize he had a poor review from the preceding house sitting stint, but Sharoon and I discussed it and I came away satisfied. I was not disappointed. I would gladly recommend him to others.

Sasha travelled by train from Brisbane to Wagga for this house sit and arrived punctually. We needed him to care for pot plants, garden and swimming pool for one week while were away. The garden and pool were OK when we returned and Sasha communicated with us well while we were away. Thank you Sasha for coming.

Sasha was an excellent sitter for my Sammy. I had to get a sitter at 2 days notice and Sasha responded so quickly. He was everything I could ask from a sitter and my dog Sammy was happy and content. As I came home a few days earlier than expected, because of the fires (I had to get out of NSW), Sasha stayed on until he answered another post. He was an excellent houseguest and I enjoyed showing him around the Sunshine Coast.

I haven't met Sasha in person, but we had good chats over the phone before and after the housesit. As well as emails while I was away. The birds got spoiled for attention, I reckon. Sharoon was a fantastic house sitter while I was away. He was very communicative before the trip to make sure details were all understood and that everything went smoothly.
