I'm a retired social science researcher who has been house sitting since May 2017. I have lived in Melbourne off and on for more than 30 years (including 5 Covid lockdowns!). I'm seeking house sitting positions across Eastern Australia to experience living in varied towns and suburbs as I decide where I may live longer term and find affordable housing..
I am a very experienced minder of cats and dogs of varying ages, breeds and personalities, along with chickens (and a duck) who have rewarded me with many eggs. Your pets will be slightly pampered and taken for daily walks where appropriate.
I take great pride in maintaining an owner's home as I would my own. I am also a very experienced gardener with a particular passion for growing organic vegetables and fruit.
Please note that while I do not have a car, I do actually enjoy walking to the nearest bus stop, train station or shopping centre. If it becomes necessary to take a pet to a vet during my house sit, I will do this using a taxi at my own expense.
I have several references from previous house sits available on request, along with a Police Check. I'm a non smoker.
Sue was an excellent and experienced house sitter whom we were very impressed with. Our cat was happy on our return and the house was in perfect condition, looking just as we left it. Even the laundry had been done. Communication whilst we were away was good, providing us with peace of mind. Would highly recommend Sue as a Housesitter and hope to have her stay again next time we’re away.
I was pleased to come home to my cat who looked well cared for. Sue loves to garden and clearly took great pains to bring my poor offerings to their spring glory. Sue is a responsible and trustworthy person. I was very grateful for her efforts and hope she enjoyed her time in Bowral.
Sue looked after our home and 2 dogs exceptionally well. They were walked and played with often. Sue’s communication was regular and prompt from the start. Sue sent updates whilst we were away. Our home was left clean and tidy. Would highly recommend Sue and happy to have her stay again.

Sue is an exemplary house-sitter. She is intelligent, sensible and reliable. My dog thrived in her care as the regular communications showed Chip happy and relaxed. Sue is a keen gardener and she repotted plants, fed and watered everything in the garden that had been neglected in my pre-"big trip" state.
I highly recommend Sue to anyone who wants peace of mind while travelling. I returned home to a happy, healthy dog, a flourishing garden and an immaculately clean house.

Excellent communication before and during the house sit . House was freshly cleaned, pets obviously very fond of her, garden and pot plants all thriving. And cooked us a great curry for dinner on our return. Dexter will miss his long early morning walks!!

It was lovely to have Sue house sit for me whilst I was overseas. She did such a wonderful job of looking after my house and my loved greyhound dog, Snuggles, and cat, Mindy. Both were in the best hands giving me great peace of mind whilst I was away. Sue was through and regular in her communications, prompt to respond to messages, provided frequent updates on how the animals were and was quick to notify me when Snuggles needed to see the vet. Sue did a fine job looking after our dog Pepper and cat Django and keeping our home. Pets were both well, and happy to have stayed at home while we travelled. It's wonderful to be able to have a reliable person look after house and pets so that said pets can stay in their routine; much better than boarding them out somewhere. Sue house sat for us recently and was wonderful. The pets (cat and dog) were extremely well cared for and the house left in better condition than we could have imagined. The vegetable garden (extensive) and rest of our large garden was well maintained including the care of chooks, duck and pet sheep.
Sue will be back for a longer stay later in the year which is great news!
We can tell that Sue spoilt our two boys, Harry and Coco - and we couldn't tell that Sue had even been
in our home as everything was just as we had left it.

moggies and take care of your home in your absence.
Sue looked after our home, dog, cat, chooks and fish while we holidayed for 2 weeks. Our house was exceptionally clean, our pets contented and a beautiful curry was waiting for our dinner. It wasnt required but Sue also cared for our garden.
Sue looked after our house and dog for two weeks while we were overseas. She did a fantastic job with caring for dog and the house was spotless when we returned. It was very reassuring to know that everything was being looked after while we were away. We would highly recommend Sue for future house/pet sitting needs!
As this was my first experience with having a house sitter I was a little unsure of everything ! But Sue was great. We met before the house sit so Sue could meet "the boys" my 2 dogs and cat. Sue arrived for the house sit before we flew out which made it much easier to go knowing she was there with them. Sue was our sitter for 2 months while we were travelling. She kept in touch with us during that time. We came home to a clean house a managed garden and a contented cat. We would highly recommend Sue as a house sitter and hope she'll be available for our future travels
