Roya & Becca

Hi everyone!

We're Roya and Becca, two 27-year-old friends looking forward to caring for your beloved pets!

Roya began formally pet-sitting in May 2023 and has had the absolute joy of caring for many animals during that time, both in Australia and internationally. She recently returned home to Sydney from 7 months full-time pet-sitting across Europe - she cared for pets in homes in Spain, Malta, Denmark and the UK, to name a few! She's looked after dogs ranging from small spaniels, to large shepherds, of various temperaments and personalities, and including rescue dogs. Some of these dogs also required special diets and/or medication. She has also looked after various cats of different breeds, ages and personalities. She grew up with cats and has lived with them for most of her life so looking after them comes second nature to her. She is very in tune to their needs and understands the patience and gentleness often required with them.

Becca is also a big animal lover with plenty of experience with dogs and cats. She has lived with four different dogs ranging from small to large, one of whom had special dietary needs and another who was in rehab for a broken leg, so she's sensitive to different dogs' needs. She has also been a member of Mad Paws for three years (a dog sitting and dog walking service), through which she's looked after and walked plenty of other dogs including harder to manage large dogs and dogs with phobias, anxieties and injuries. She has also lived with cats before and has minded cats for family and friends. These have included elderly cats and cats who required medication.

We both work primarily from home (as a journalist and a designer), so your pets would be our absolute priority and we're eager to give them all the company, exercise and love they need! We both appreciate a very clean and tidy space so you can trust we will keep your home in pristine condition. We also both have a green thumb so it would be no problem to do some light gardening or weeding and keep your indoor plants thriving.

We are both creative and adventurous, and love connecting with new people! When we're not enjoying the company of animals, you'll find us hiking, surfing, reading, enjoying live music, and trying new food spots!

Tofino and Darley (Snowshoe cats), London. "We cannot recommend Roya and Alisha more. They were great from start to finish. We had a really helpful zoom call beforehand and, given we were new to this, they were very helpful. They shared updates unprompted throughout the visit, and took great care of the cats and our home. They are lovely people and our cats were definitely sorry to see them leave! We would definitely love to have Alisha and Roya again :)"

Taco (Mixed-breed dog) and Zorro (English Setter), London. "Alisha and Roya looked after my pups for 5 nights. Everytime we are about to leave our pups with someone new I always have anxiety but there was something about these girls that immediately put me at ease! From our first communication they always asked the right questions and were very attentive. Taco and zorro loved the girls immediately. The girls sent us constant updates and msgs. Our flight on the way back got cancelled and we got severely delayed but these girls were amazing...they stayed for longer than the agreed time. I can't recommend these girls enough. We came home to an immaculate apartment and this was by far the BEST house sitter experience we have had. Thank you girls...you were the best...taco and zorro miss you!"

"Roya and Alisha were professional from the get go: setting up a zoom shortly after my confirmation, checking with me re flight times, updating me on the bookings, being spot on time for our introductory meeting and for the handover / all the things that gave us total confidence to take the taxi to the airport.
They kept in daily touch with photos that showed how happy Mia was with them and their affection for her. They showed appreciation for info on Malta events and in a couple of unforeseen events like heavy rainfall responsibly asked for coping guidance When we got home, everything in the flat was in its right place and Mia was whiter and fluffier than when she has just left a professional groomer."

I don't think they had an easy gig -- there was a snow storm, Alisha got sick, Clem is definitely a bit of a handful -- but we returned to a wonderfully clean flat and happy dog and got regular updates along the way.
