  • Owned a small hobby farm for 8 years where we agisted horses and cows, and ran our own sheep, and had a lama. Had paddocks for hay, and did lots of bushcare for large areas of native bush, propagated native plants, and also grew fruit trees and veggies. I have plenty of experience also house sitting on farms and rural properties with horses, cats, chickens, dogs, and goldfish :) I am experienced with a variety of ride-on mowers, and have tended to gardens, seedlings, pot plants, and vegetable gardens.

Hello my name is Sara, and I am very happy to be here on Aussie House Sitters :) I have been caring for homes and pets since October 2017, with many repeat bookings.

I pride myself on providing a high level of care and expertise, and maintaining a clean and tidy environment. My house sitting experience includes looking after pets, homes, and gardens of many different sizes.

I am practical and hands on around the home and property, and proactive with pet's needs and health, including giving medication. I have also looked after pools and mowed lawns with regular and ride-on mowers.

Laughter, well-being, and happiness are such important things in life, and I am aware of how important it is to be able to relax and feel confident that our pets, gardens, and homes are being well cared for while we are away.

It is my great pleasure, therefore, to assist home and pet owners to feel happy and relaxed while they're travelling, safe in the knowledge that their homes and pets are receiving expert care and attention. I truly enjoy meeting homeowners, and respect and appreciate being welcomed into their homes in this way.

Pets bring such happiness and joy, and I enjoy getting to know them and their personalities. I admit that I adore cats and having their company. I also love dogs, and particularly those that are happy to chill out and relax while I’m working and writing.

Owners have commented that their pets seem to gravitate towards me, and want to sit close to me - or on me! - soon after we are introduced :) Even those that are shy, are often happy to come close to say hello.

I enjoy many different locations, from neighbourly suburbs to remote areas, and properties with acreage. I especially appreciate house sits that are peaceful and close to nature, or that offer beautiful gardens, together with great internet and mobile phone reception.

Whilst house sitting, I provide clients with online and phone consultations. I find that working as a 'digital nomad' in this way fits in very well with house sitting, as both the pets and I enjoy having each other's company when at home. I also write, so having a relaxing home environment with pets is wonderful.

Now that my 2 children are adults, house sitting enables me to house sit in locations near to them as well as in areas that I particularly enjoy including Victoria and the Bellarine, South Australia and the Adelaide Hills, and NSW and Sydney and the Southern Highlands.

I am so glad that I began this journey of house sitting in 2017, and I am so grateful that it continues to bring many wonderful experiences.

Fantastic! From the moment we met Sara, we both felt very comfortable with her. We had great communication from her before and during her stay at our home. When we arrived back, the house was left clean and tidy, and our two cats looked well looked after. It was nice to receive a few messages during our time away and this made us feel that Sara was both caring and considerate. Sara looked after our house, cat and chickens like they were her own. Marvellous! She even trimmed the dead flower heads off the roses, so we came home to a lovely show.

Sara was a great house and pet sitter! Took amazing care of our fur-babies, walked our dog and left our home clean and tidy. She sent us photos of our pets during her stay and her family even enjoyed a nice dinner all together at ours while we were away. She was easily contactable and communicated regularly and watered our garden and pot plants for us. We would recommend Sara if you are looking for a house or pet sitter. She is welcome back to our home whenever we travel again!

Sara looked after our house and cat for a whole month, and we couldn’t be happier. She was super-quick at noticing that puss had a tick on his face and took him straight to the vet in time to avoid any serious effects. It was great to see him happy and healthy on our return. Throughout the sit Sara communicated very well giving us confidence that everything was going fine. She organised her arrival and departure smoothly despite tight timing with her other sits. We had such a positive experience with Sara. She took great care of our home and garden, collected our mail, and made sure our cat, Kiki, was content and well looked after. We were particularly impressed by how thoughtful and experienced Sara was in caring for Kiki. She informed us that she had temporarily moved the cat playground from a dark, enclosed spot to a brighter location by the kitchen window, where it’s sunnier, warmer, and offers Kiki a great view of the side garden. We were very fortunate to have Sara respond to our request to sit out 2 cats and home in Bendigo. Her communication was excellent and I felt an instant rapport with her when we met by phone.
