Hello!

We are Andrew and Angeline, a couple from Cairns, Qld, with a love for animals, and a passion for helping others by providing quality housesitting services. After a few years of taking care of our elderly parents, we’re back on the road and looking forward to a new adventure of house-sitting in Western Australia. We prefer long-term sits (4 weeks or more), and bring with us, common sense, responsibility, reliability, and care.

About Us:

    •    Location & Background: We’ve spent the past 32 years in the Cairns, Mossman, Port Douglas and Atherton Tablelands areas. Prior to that, we both grew up in small rural towns in Qld & NSW, surrounded by a variety of animals (dogs cats, fish, mice, blue tongue lizards, guinea pigs, goats, sheep, chooks, geese, ducks, and kangaroos,) which gave us a deep appreciation for animals and the care they need.

    •    Family: We’ve been married for 34 years and have one daughter, Paris, who recently moved to Mandurah, Perth to live, in July 2023. She is a pet groomer, and loves animals too. We thought we would take the opportunity to drive her over and explore WA. Because we are no longer caring for our aged parents as they have sadly both passed away, we now have the opportunity to travel and enjoy house-sitting once again. Eventually we plan on heading to Tasmania, the only state we haven’t been to.

Why We House Sit:

Since becoming empty-nesters in 2018, we simplified our lives. We stopped house-sitting when we moved back to Cairns in mid-2019 to care for ageing parents. Renting the place right next door to Ange’s dad to best care for him. We prefer longer-term sits, to settle in and care for your home and pets as our own.

What We Offer:

    •    Reliability & Responsibility: We pride ourselves on being clean, honest, and dependable. Experienced in caring for animals and maintaining properties, you can trust that your home will be cared for during our stay.

    •    Animal Care: From dogs to cats, goats to guinea pigs, we’ve cared for a variety of animals over the years. We had Our own rescue dog, Benji (a Papillon), he had a remarkable journey with us, overcoming fears and socialising with other dogs. (UPDATE… Beni is now with a new home in Cairns QLD, and loving it!)

    •    Property Maintenance: Andrew has experience with ride-on mowers and farming machinery, including tractors for ploughing, and slashing on a sugar cane farm in Mossman Qld.

Current Employment:
    •    Andrew works as a truck driver, locally in Perth for Linfox.
    •    Ange worked part-time as a disability/aged care support worker.

Additional Information:
    •    Non-smokers
    •    Police checks available upon request
    •    Caravan: We travel with our own small caravan (18.5 ft), ensuring a flexible and self-sufficient lifestyle while we house-sit.
