Carol & Tim

Hi, we are Carol and Tim (based in the UK), recently retired and ready to explore the world looking after pets and homes along the way. Our adventure starts in Australia in February/March/ April 2025 which is why we have joined Aussie House Sitters.

We are both very keen walkers and last year we completed the Tour du Mont Blanc (in France, Italy and Switzerland, 100 miles) in 10 days. The previous year we hiked The West Highland Way (in Scotland, also 100 miles) over 7 days. We like to plan all of these trips ourselves rather than use a tour operator. We both enjoy doing the research and learn a lot about the country/area whilst planning the trip.

Apart from hiking, Carol enjoys gardening and we both enjoy cooking. We cook all of our meals from scratch, no ready-meals for us. Leading a healthy lifestyle is important to both of us. Carol has practiced pilates and yoga for about 30 years. Neither of us smoke and we are both fully vaccinated against Covid.

Between us we have owned cats and a number of dogs including spaniels, labradors, retrievers and terriers. We both miss having a pet but we just don't feel it's the right time to have another dog (or cat) at the moment. House sitting and looking after other people's pets is an ideal way for us to enjoy being around animals and, as we love walking, we can enjoy walking a dog (or dogs) again. As well as cats and dogs we have also owned rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds and fish.
