We are a long time married, honest and house proud couple, practising retirement. We have lived in Townsville for most of our lives and have 4 children and 9 grandchildren and 1 great grand child. Our children have spread their wings and now it's our turn. We have sold or gifted everything we own, pulled up stumps and hit the road indefinitely. Our ultimate goal is help people by fulfilling requests to house sit and see different parts of our beautiful country.
We have always maintained a healthy, clean and tidy home and take pride in this. We expect respect for our belongings and property and your property will be treated the same.
Our journey started almost 8 years ago and we have loved every minute of it. While house sitting we have been able to connect and contribute to communities by volunteering at Vinnies stores throughout the states. This has further enriched our house sitting experience.
We continue to love our journey and have gained experience caring for various breeds of cats & dogs, horses, cows, donkeys, miniature pig, emu, chickens, birds, ducks, guinea fowl, alpaca, sheep, goats, rats, mice, bees, fish, reptiles, Guinea pigs, rabbits, hobby and worm farms. So many memorable moments. We have a love for animals of all kinds and are willing to learn more about all your pets. We enjoy being outdoors and maintaining yards, gardens and pools etc.
We have been able to gain an appreciation for new places and differing lifestyles. We've taken the opportunities to meet new people and form lifetime friendships and have engaged in various functions, normally attended by our hosts (at their request), including weekly trivia nights and dinner outings, all while they were away!! What a great way to meet even more people and learn the dynamics of a community.
We are usually able to arrive earlier, if required. Sometimes we can manage a meet and greet in advance too. This way we can get to know your pets and establish a bond.

Paul & Laurel
Laurel and Paul were the perfect house sitters. Communication was straight forward and easy from the get go. When finishing their housesit for us, our home was left clean and tidy, the lawn was mowed, the garden tidy, and the pets very happy and healthy. They went above and beyond, and I keep finding little bits and pieces of extra bits they have done. Would whole heartedly recommend Laurel and Paul to anyone.
A Christmas Blessing is the best way to describe this sit. Paul and Laurel undertook the not so small task of looking after our rather busy house for a month. They were so easy to talk to and i was completely confident and at ease to go away for a month. They stopped by prior to the sit to meet and have a rundown on the circus. Not only did our three Fox Terriers take to them and stick like glue from their first introduction, which doesn’t happen with everyone, but they genuinely seemed to miss them and look for them after L and P had gone! Paul and Laurel are a lovely couple who were wonderful to deal with. Our pet tribe threw them a few curve balls while we were away but they handled it all with no fuss and excellent communication.

Finding Paul & Laurel was like hitting the jackpot! We were so nervous about leaving our animals for 3 months, as they are our family. We had a chat with Paul & Laurel and new instantly that they were the ones for our pets. They made an effort to come to the house and meet us prior to the house sit and the communication was ongoing months in advance.

What a great couple..our dogs were spoilt, our house cleaner then we left it and they sent us thoughtful updates on our boys....pups..their dog sense was rare and very much appreciated to win over our scared rescue dog..we were very lucky to find them..will be checking their rare availability..to look after our boys again.

I wish I could give a rating that was higher than five stars. I am delighted by the care that Laurel & Paul took during their time at my home, not only with my two cats but also with the home and garden. I greatly appreciated regular updates and photos, which gave me such reassurance that my cats were coping well! We were so lucky to have Laurel & Paul look after our home. They came across as very caring, sensible and beautiful humans from the moment we met them.
Our 2 dogs, cat and chooks were spoiled with Laurel and Paul's love and attention and our yard has never looked so tidy!

We had never used Aussie House Sitters before when we signed up Laurel & Paul for the 4 week job. We were very anxious about leaving our home & our 2 Jack Russell baby's to strangers. We managed to meet & greet them at our home the day before. What can I say about Laurel and Paul, simply put, they are the best housesitters we have had. We had a lovely meet and greet before the sit which instantly put our minds at ease. We could tell straight away these two were seasoned sitters, professional, courteous and very easy to get along with. They even did the edging and pruned the bushes without being asked which I thought was a nice touch. The place looked better when we returned than when we left it. Laurel and Paul were amazing I highly recommend them to care for your home and fur babies they did an outstanding job and I would love to have them stay again anytime. They went above and beyond of what was expected for a housesit and I can not thank them enough for everything that they did during their stay.
Just incredible describes their caring of our house, garden and cats. No easy job either with a garden constantly needing attention and two very needy cats! On return house was shining, garden great and cats extremely happy. Laurel and Paul were also so understanding and easy to communicate with when we had to delay our trip a few days.
Will even try and organise our future trips around their free dates to assure we have them again.

Laurel and Paul were the perfect housesitters.. . We were so fortunate to have had this wonderful couple house sit for us recently. They provided wonderful care and attention to Freda our 14 yr old cat who settled in so well with them. It was wonderful to receive regular updates and photos of one very spoilt cat.. Laurel and Paul were amazing! The lawns mowed, house cleaned, our puppies well looked after (This is the most important one of course) and they were always updating us with what was happening back home at our request. Laurel and Paul were amazing house sitters. They took care of our house and pets like it was their own. We got home to find the house cleaner than we left it and the pets were all happy and settled (I think the pets barely even missed us). At no time while we were away were we concerned about the welfare of our pets, Laurel and Paul kept us up to date with how everything was going. Laurel and Paul were amazing house sitters! My animals were happy and so well looked after, my house was cleaner than when I left (naughty). They even stayed an extra night last minute due to our flight being cancelled. They are lovely people and I just couldn't reccomend them more.

Laurel & Paul were fantastic. Their initial communication demonstrated genuine warmth, empathy and interest and this was confirmed when we met in person. Not once either leading up to our trip or while we were away did we have any concerns. In fact it was rather the opposite when they needed to step up and in for us when our gorgeous old dog needed to be put to sleep while we were away. I would highly recommend them to sit and we would use them again if the opportunity arose.
We cannot speak highly enough about Laurel and Paul. They were absolutely wonderful with our animals. It's obvious that our pets were very happy with them. Our garden also enjoyed their loving care, showing off lots of produce. Laurel did make super-yummy tomato chutney! And their kindness doesn't end there. We came home exhausted (I was also ill from the food on the airplane) to a very clean house and a very delicious dinner!

It was great pleasure to have Paul and Laurel to look after our dog Bella, the vegie garden and the house, knowing that our baby girl would be In safe hands. the vegetable garden was lush and green with plenty of produce ready to be harvested. The house and yard was in a clean and tidy state upon our return

From the first moment we met, we enjoyed Paul and Laurel's enthusiasm, and willingness to assist. We went away for the week knowing our animals and plants were in safe hands. The yard looked cleaner on our arrival home, and the leeks and strawberries received great attention. The meal cooked for us on arrival home was an added bonus. We would be delighted to have Paul and Laurel house sit for us again, and we are more then happy to endorse them as housesitters.
Handing over our home and garden and more importantly our beloved golden retriever Harry for two months while we were in Europe could have been nerve wracking!
However from the first point of contact with Paul and Laurel we knew we were in good hands.

We are so lucky to have met you both and have you look after our farm for 2 weeks, our dogs didn't even care when we got home it was like we never left, they actually cried and spiked the first night we were home because they missed P & L. Our house was spotless, our chooks well looked after, our odd jobs that needed doing all done... we hope you come back again :)
Laurel and Paul looked after our house, large landscaped property and Oscar our cat for almost a month.
We highly recommend them, not only did Oscar get looked after well he also connected with a loving bond, Oscar is usually shy around people, he hides from visitors. We came home to find him laying on the table getting pats!

Wow! Laurel and Paul! Great people! They recently cared for our "babies" and looked after things while we went away for a few days. We have very fussy spoiled ragdoll cats who were very relaxed and settled when we arrived home. All of our animals have different needs (3 legged dog, 4 legged dog, aging pony) and Laurel and Paul attended to their every individual needs without hesitation.
