Dan & Charlie

We're a couple. Responsible and sensible with plenty of house and pet sitting experience. From horses to high-need rescue dogs, we've done it all!!

We've done a lot of house sitting though this site and took a break from 2022 to buy our own home. And now, we're back!

We're doing some building at our place in Kyogle, so right now we're looking for house sits within 50km of our home. It will mostly just be one of us at a time while the other takes care of the building project.

Dan is also looking for somewhere to sit in Sydney for work from mid February to early March, dates flexible.

If you're outside the Northern Rivers of NSW, reach out to us anyway. We will consider longer sits (a month or more) from next year.

I'm a professional, I work remotely usually consulting to government agencies to help them with building better websites and apps. I do all this remotely so I work from home.

More about Charlie (he/him):

I'm pretty handy. I've worked as a pool technician, which is just a fancy way to say pool cleaner. More recently, I've turned my hand to permaculture and I love growing food for us. So if you have a garden that needs tending, a pool that needs care, I'm your guy. I can use all the toys: tractor, ride on mower, chainsaw etc.

Both of us:

We love animals, have had pets all our lives and we're non-smokers and vegetarian (though we certainly don't have any issue with feeding meat to your pets). We will care for your fur / feathered / scaled babies as if they were our own. Dan also has plenty of experience with horses.

We've been on this site for over 6 years now and have been taking care of pets and places of many friends and acquaintances much longer than that. We also get many sits through word of mouth. We're trustworthy - Dan has a police check and baseline security clearance through her government work. House sitting was our main source of accommodation for 5 years so we're professional and very experienced. We are happy to guide you through the house sitting process if it's new to you.

Introducing Dottie:
We now have our own pooch so she will come with us on longer sits. Dottie is a 4 year old farm dog (we think border collie and kelpie) and she's an absolute delight and well trained and behaved around other animals. Gets on with other dogs and she loves to play chasing games. We're happy to answer any questions about her and how she will fit in with your pets.

*Hobart looking after 2 gorgeous dogs plus a pool and massive vege garden.
* Blacktown with 5 (yes 5!) rescue dogs all needing special care and medication.
* Darwin with 2 dogs, 4 cats plus pool cleaning duties.
*Melbourne with 2 dogs and a bird.
* Sydney with a cat, a rabbit, a cockatiel and 7 chickens.
* Sydney with 2 very hyperactive toy poodles.
* Brisbane with a 14 year old Jack Russell.
* Just outside Brisbane with 2 puppies, 17 chickens and a cat.
* Mount Glorious with an old maremma, a cat and pool cleaning.
*Tambourine Mountain with 2 rescue dogs.
*Cornubia with 2 dogs, 2 cats and 6 chickens plus pool cleaning.
*France (oh la la!) with 2 horses, 3 dogs, 2 cats and more ducks and chickens than you can count.
*McLaren Vale with the world's most adorable labrador.
*Port Willunga with a loveable Australian bulldog and 2 siamese cats.
*Port Willunga with a very handsome golden retriever.
*Clifton Springs with two spritely old cocker spaniels.
*Berry Mountain, NSW on 100 acres with 2 kelpies and chooks.
*Snowy mountains, NSW with a nervous staffie and a cuddly cat
*Kyogle, Northern Rivers, NSW with 2 kelpie x cattle dogs
*Upper Hunter Vally, NSW with a sweet border collie
*Clunes, NSW with a permaculture garden.
*Eden Creek, NSW on 30 acres with horses and a springer spaniel who fell in love with Dottie.
*Coolgardie, NSW monitoring a pregnant cow, 4 horses and too many guinea fowl to count .
