We are a reliable, responsible, professional couple with a well-behaved 14-year-old son.
We have been house-sitters on and off since 2011. We have had 11 separate engagements, one for four years (my cousins), another for folks we met at an extracurricular activity our kids were attending, and the remaining nine through Aussie Housesitters.
Aside from the first one, these have ranged from 1-4 weeks, and have been in a variety of locations including Sydney's North Shore and Northern Beaches, Cairns/Innisfail, Proserpine, Casino, Nowra, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Brisbane.
Our most recent engagements have included three weeks in Balgowlah on Sydney's North Shore for Christmas 2019, two weeks in Cairns/two weeks in Mourilyan (near Innisfail) for Christmas 2020 and a month in Nowra for Christmas 2022.
We have cared for a range of pets including dogs, cats, horses, chickens/ducks, mice, guinea pigs, and goldfish.
We are settled in Brisbane now.
Our son is extremely bright, mature for his years, very safety-conscious and, as noted above, well-behaved (most of the time).
He has been in a house-sit arrangement or a rental property since he was born, so is well aware of how to look after other people's property.
He is an animal lover and does not currently have a pet of his own, which is one of the reasons that we like doing housesitting, so he can love on other people's pets!

Fiona, Tom and their little boy Lachlan looked after our house, 3 dogs, 1 cat and 1 chook in late June/early July 2015.
They are a delightful family and were so caring and conscientious with the house and with all the creatures, who were all happy and well fed at the end of the holiday. (Our 3 pugs are quite a mission to look after!).
We would not hesitate to have them back, in fact we have since met up socially and we will definitely stay in contact with them in the future.

Fiona & Tom cared for our much loved staffy for 10 days. They were brilliant with communication from the get go and it was clear they catered for her in every way including walking her daily, even taking her out with them!!. Our house was left spotless and they were very kind, even leaving us with fresh bread and milk on our return. We would not hesitate to recommend them and will definitely seek them out for future house sits.
