I'm having the time of my life as a roving housesitter. Dozens of house and pet sits over years, since long before housesit websites began.
Cheerful widower, non-drinker and non-smoker. Sixties.
I take pride in leaving your place as clean and tidy as I found it. I'll spoil your pets as if they were my own.

John is an experienced house sitter and it shows. Everything from the first communication to him leaving my property was excellent. My house was in good hands and my female tonkinese cat well looked after. John left the house in a clean and tidy state. Would recommend John wholeheartedly and will definitely look him up in the future hoping that he will be available.
John house sat for us and cared for our animals (2 young Aussie Shepherds, 2 cats and 2 alpacas) for nearly 8 weeks while we travelled in Europe. Luckily for us, John is a very capable and experienced house sitter. We had terrible storms while we were away and poor John had to deal with trees down over the yard fence and no power for 6 days! John was great. The cats, dogs and budgies were in excellent shape when we returned home.
The house was in good nick too, although unexpectedly dusty in places such as in the lounge room.
The garden was good - the cyclamen were well looked after and instructions were followed - thank you.
Communication was light but clear - exactly what we asked for.
John was very communicative & responsive. He’s a nice bloke & seems to care. Our dogs were fine when we arrived home, the house was tidy, however there were 2 doors that weren’t locked properly so unfortunately can’t give 5 stars. To be fair, I think he had some accommodation issues on the last day and left in a rush, but security is a must in my eyes.
John was punctual, clear with communication and house requirements, tidy, and built an excellent rapport with the dogs in such a short period of time, they were happy when we arrived home, and appreciated John being a homebody to give them lots of attention while we were away for the weekend. A great house guest and friend to the dogs, thanks John!
John was great. From communication prior to stay until his departure everything was smooth and spot on. We had a pleasure to get to know John bit better as he arrived couple of days early and spent few days in our family. He is a good man and would definitely recommend him as a house sitter.
John was a great pet and house sitter. I came back home after two weeks away to a clean and tidy home, sheets washed and a very happy/content dog. John was fast to respond to any contact I had and I would highly recommend John for any house sit.
On reading John’s previous reviews I was very happy to leave my home and pets in his care.
My detailed written and verbal instructions for my dog and cats re outside access were not followed. I also have a friend that tried to explain the routine but John advised he worked out his own schedule which involved locking my dog inside the house even when he wasn’t home. She has never been locked in before and this stressed her.

As our dog was a rescue, she has certain emotional needs and sometimes sensitivities. John was open to hearing these, and was only too happy to accommodate them when I asked him to come a day early and for us to meet off the property for our initial doggy intro.

John provided care for our two mini schnauzers and our home. He sent short email updates from time to time and notified us and our emergency contact when an incident occurred involving our dogs. We arranged a friend to do our lawns whilst away to ease the burden of maintaining our large home and yard. John followed the requirements for our dogs and maintaining our house and yard (including watering the plants and lawn) as outlined in our Welcome Pack we had drafted. The dogs were happy and ... John looked after our cockatiels and fish for 6 weeks. We came home to a beautiful spotlessly clean house and very happy birds and fish. I would highly recommend John he emailed us every week to let us know how things were going.

John was fantastic to deal with. We met him a couple of times before the scheduled house sit and both our cat and dog took to him straight away. Whilst away he stayed in very regular contact to keep us updated on the pets. John is personable, easy to talk to and a very good communicator. It was a pleasure to have John stay at our house for a week whilst we visited relatives. Our 3 dogs took to him instantly. Communication before and after was excellent. Very happy to recommend with 5 stars, and hope to see him again later in the year.
