Debbie & Mike

We are married couple in our fifties, non smokers, 4 children, 5 grandchildren and one more on the way. After many years working we are taking some timeout for ourselves to experience Australia for a while , do some travelling, some writing, reading, gardening, running and walking.

Mike has a background in Executive management having had senior high profile positions in banking, consulting and state government. He dabbles in some oil painting and very slow trail running.

Debbies career has been in fashion retail, her best achievements are raising her 4 children , many pets , gardening ( love of roses) and cooking for the extended family .

We are a very quiet trustworthy and reliable couple with an absolute love of animals.

We have lived in the UK, New Zealand, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Moranbah, and Melbourne (Torquay)

HOUSE SITTING EXPERIENCE

We are currently looking after a house and pets in Brisbane (our first such formal house sit (loving it), but we have looked after houses and pets of family on numerous occasions. We have also rented houses many times as our jobs have led to short term roles in Queensland, NZ and Victoria.

ANIMAL SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE
DOGS
We have had a number of dogs over the years - German Shepherd’s, Golden Retrievers, Labradors, French Bulldogs, Great Danes, Mastiffs, Cavadoodles, a big beautiful Newfoundland for 10 years and our Siberian Husky Maya for 14 years. Maya was diabetic and blind at the end of her life so we are very used to dogs of lots of sizes , ages , those requiring lots of exercise and lots of care. We are big dog and cat lovers so they would be a joy to look after for us.
CATS
We have a number of cats again over the years and again very used to and fond of them
FISH
No real experience with Fish
BIRDS
No real experience with domestic birds but lots of experience with their wild cousins
