30, Maths Teacher
27, Geography Teacher
My partner and I are both high school teachers from England travelling Australia for a year. I (Holly) am a Maths Teacher and Harry is a Geography Teacher. We have been in Australia since September and have spent most of our trip WWOOFING, which involves volunteering on organic farms in return for accommodation and food. We have enjoyed doing this but what we have loved most is looking after the animals we have come across. At home in England we would regularly look after Harry’s family dog, Trevor, a loving and loyal, Red Labrador Retriever, who loves beach walks and cuddles (nearly as much as we do). So far on our travels, we have house sat for our WWOOF hosts and this has included looking after: dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, a goat, an alpaca and a cockatiel. As teachers, we pride ourselves on being extremely responsible and reliable but also very caring and attentive, and would say sometimes teaching children can be very similar to looking after and caring for animals.
As I mentioned, we have enjoyed WWOOFing as part of our travels but would now love the routine and company of looking after pets while getting to explore the local area (hopefully with them).
