We are an active retired kiwi couple travelling North Queensland for the winter. We sold our caravan last year, so will require use of a room and bathroom. Currently we're looking for new experiences and places to explore.
We had a rural lifestyle property and at various times had a few cattle, goats, sheep, rabbits and a pig. Along with these, the family dog and cat. We have since sold the lifestyle property and moved to town, which has enabled us to continue exploring Australia. Prior to Covid we were fortunate to spend two winters travelling in Australia and then returned the previous two years.
When Craig retired from the wine industry, he helped elderly folk with home and property maintenance. Helen retired from 22 years working for an Optometrist.
We are both animal lovers and would treat your pets as our own. Your home and grounds would be well cared for and treated with respect. Last year we worked as caretakers on a farm caravan park which we really enjoyed.
We are honest, reliable and tidy non-smokers. NZ Police checks are available to view along with references. We are available August and September, but can be flexible with end dates.

This was our first time using Aussie House Sitters and we found an absolute gem of a couple with Helen & Criaig to look after our treasured puppy Pepper and our home. Prior to us leaving on our holiday H&C kept in touch and when were on holiday we received continuous updates/photos/videos of their stay with Pepper. We have just come home from nearly a month away. The house was an absolute delight to walk in to, I think cleaner than we left it. Helen and Craig looked after our two big dogs like they were their own. Helen sent me regular photos and kept sending updated every day or so. They understood they are our babies and gave them all the love and affection they need, and most importantly, kept them safe. Thank you Helen & Craig for caring for, & looking after absolutely everything during our absence. The dogs just loved all the attention; the garden & pot plants were extra well cared for; the larger than normal yard was beautifully mown, & the house left in pristine condition. We'd recommend Helen & Craig for any housesit and would just really love to have them stay here anytime. A very special couple!
