We are the Kirkwood family.
We have been living in Victoria on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula our whole lives and are taking a big trip in our caravan in 2024. We plan on leaving after Easter and seeing Australia with our two children (Libby- 7 and Gordon- 4), whilst experiencing different schools along the way as teachers.
We are looking for stays around our home base before we leave earlier in 2024 then stays around Australia to enable us to experience different towns for periods of time and also work at local schools in those areas.
We are an active family who have experience with animals having been dog/cat/turtle/chicken owners in the past, particularly our two pugs which we sadly lost after 10 years of love recently.
As we are travelling with our caravan we will be looking for properties that have room to park our van as well as suitable drive ways/access.
We would love to discuss potential house sitting jobs with you and start our journey.

*We have 2 house sits that we are completing from May 2024 in WA, looking for more to add to our journey :)

Fantastic house and pet sitters! Cooper the Labradoodle who has multiple allergies and special care necessary was perfectly looked after. I got multiple updates and photos which was lovely to see. My house was well looked after and the garden was cared for also. Cooper was not used to children and fell in love with Libby and Gordon. Libby was his special carer. Thank you all, have a wonderful adventure. I would highly recommend this family.

This review saddens me to write. We’re not wealthy but what we have is ours and all we ask is to leave our little house as it’s found. Unfortunately for us and these sitters, that didn’t quite happen. When we arrived home the lawns were mowed, the house was tidy and the dogs looked healthy, so on the surface it looked fine. However soon after, we found items that were left filthy, some damaged or broken and even after a week we found other items that are missing completely, it is extremely ... MORE

Yes there were some issues with the kitchen standard which need to be improved next time by us thoroughly inspecting the condition upon our arrival. We are currently sitting and have decided to take photos of all aspects and bringing our own cutlery etc inside to avoid any disputes about condition. ... MORE
