I've been living in my beloved van for 18 years and it is truly wonderful , fnq to tas , mostly nsw and vic . am VERY aware of my privilege . a pension means a frugal existence but I can get a coffee, a newspaper and follow the seasons . i have a 3 cm high stack of library cards .

every now and then i like to stop somewhere to empty / clean / de-clutter the van and carry out some home improvements , undercover , or have dry weather . i have come close to getting a house -sit before but for various reasons it hasn't happened . have also realised that i would feel very uncomfortable living in someones house / home , sitting around surrounded by all their personal possessions , like an intruder . quite happy to stay in the van but not a problem to be in the house .

what to say about myself ? re : schedules and fast dates - I am flexible. ( here i would mention that a week or two sounds good for me , maybe more ) . I don't have a green thumb but am capable of watering things that need it . basic handyman skills . chopping the right wood with a good axe is a strange pleasure of mine . pets are wonderful and I like walking around anyway , i know nothing about chooks and cows . neat and tidy , i like to think of myself as reliable . VERY self-contained. scandi background and big fan of audio books and BBC + ABC podcast radio.

ps :

have recently become insomniac and retire REALLY early and get up really early .
the van needs work ( in st peters ) and will be off the road for a week but before making arrangements need to figure out accommodation .
i do smoke , very little , never in company and NEVER EVER would in someones home .
have no refs since i havent housesat before . am not a criminal and can get the report .
