A beautiful two storey home on a 10 acre property on the mountain overlooking Lake Eildon and next to the National Park.
We have two dogs, and three cats who need looking after.
Our dogs are Nudge who is a red heeler/cattle dog who is 3 and loves chasing a ball, attention but also happy to chill on his own a lot as well.
Ellie who is a bull arab maybe mastiff x who is almost 4 and is the most affectionate dog in the world and sleeping between you is her goal in life. She could spend the whole day playing tug of war with her rope toy or snuggled next to you.
They both can be challenging on the lead so this would need a firm person with some strength to handle this and best walked separately and lots of other options we can suggest as well.
They sleep inside and have a secure back yard and doggy door for when you need to leave them for a tour around locally. They are not good with cats and are kept separate so you would need to be ok with that.
The cats Penny and Abbie are outdoor cats and have their own outdoor cat pen and are easy to look after usually - there is a 3rd cat but she is separate and keeps to herself. All cats are outdoor cats and are not allowed in the house. They are super affectionate so will love time spent with tummy rubs and cuddles. Missy who is in the shed is a stray we feed and care for so she just needs to be fed and is down in our shed.
We have a comfortable two storey home and the bedroom will be upstairs so you need to be able to manage stairs.
The property has a kitchen downstairs and living area, bathroom and separate toilet plus a gym and our bedroom which will be closed off.
Upstairs is a queen bedroom which will be yours, bathroom (just being renovated at the moment), toilet, lounge area with bar and dining area plus our office which will be closed off. There is a deck off the lounge area upstairs and downstairs there is a fenced in yard with outdoor seating and a bbq. Reverse cycle airconditioning/heating upstairs and down plus a wood fire heater for those cold nights and an outdoor fire pit and plenty of wood for it,
We have a vegetable garden no idea what we will have growing still in December at this stage ha ha - we also have fruit trees as well as a pine plantation and hazelnut orchard. We would ask that you water certain areas of the property but no major work is required, We don't have mail delivery or rubbish collection here but have an option in Alexandra at our fitness studio for rubbish disposal.
The property is on a hill hence the fabulous views although the driveway and yard are flat. Someone who is relatively fit would be preferable as whilst the house area is flat up to the veggie garden and orchard is slightly steep and all walking areas other than the road are quite steep. Also as mentioned with two large strong dogs, fitness/strength would be a serious advantage to be able to play with them and exercise them daily.
Note I am mid 60s and my husband 70 and we can manage them well however we stress this because we have had applicants before that have said they were capable and then were not so we emphasise our preference for a couple, a degree of fitness and strength as well.
If you are a couple (preferably as we are fairly isolated being 20 minutes from town) and you would like a break to enjoy this beautiful part of Victoria, we would love to hear from you.
There is the friendly little town of Alexandra 20 minutes away with a supermarket, pubs, breweries, coffee shops and takeaways, service stations, hardware and other shops. There is also a race course, speedway, golf course, bowling club and other towns nearby such as Yarck, Eildon, Bonnie Doon and Mansfield as well as the lake and water activities.
Lots of places for day trips, lots of bush walks, or simply lazing around reading a book or looking at the view from our front yard or deck. You can go to the lake fishing, boating, paddle boarding or whatever your preference - plenty of room to store a boat or caravan if you are travelling or want to bring your water toys with you :)
We have not booked flights yet we are going to germany to see Martin's son and wife for Xmas but once booked in the next week there will be no flexibility.
So if you think this might be for you please contact us as soon as possible we will love to hear from you.
We would prefer to be able to meet if that's a possibiity but if you are not in Victoria then we understand and we will be happy to converse via messages and phone.
Hope to hear from you.
Karen and Martin
