We reside on 6.5 acres in the beautiful Yarra Valley and we have 1 quiet, very beautiful and well behaved whippet, who requires feeding, walking, and lots of time and love. We've also an outside fish pond with 3 fish that will require a once daily sprinkle of fish food, and wild birds that would appreciate a daily feed under ‘their’ tree.
Our home is land locked via a shared driveway and is very quiet, private and secluded while being only a couple of minute drive to local Wandin North township, and an 8 minute drive to Lilydale where there are shopping centres, many cafes, restaurants, medical centres, ambulance station, etc. Seville township is also a 6 minute drive away with the best pizzas in the entire region (Rowanos).
We've abundant birdlife including king parrots, crimson rosellas, galahs, eastern spinebills and bronze winged pigeons just to name a few, and there are a pair of wedge tailed eagles that sometimes glide over the paddocks. Our location is truly peaceful and a bird/nature lovers paradise. We also see kangaroos in our paddocks or local surrounds while taking our dog Donni on his local walks.
Our home is large and super clean with near new modern kitchen offering induction cooktop and two ovens (one being a steam oven). There are beautiful vistas/views from every window. The bathroom and ensuite are currently being professionally renovated and due for completion October 2024.
We’re ONLY seeking an animal loving mature or retired person and/or couple with no children or pets (sorry, but Donni just lost his best mate Milo recently and is not receptive to other dogs atm) who will be happy to settle in for 3 weeks and love, walk, spend time with and feed Donni (who is so easy to care for and such a joy) and enjoy our beautiful property. It is very important that excellent housekeeping and cleaning is provided – we will provide a spotless home and expect the same upon our return.
An actively fit retired person and/or couple who are looking to spend much of their time around the home and property enjoying it's peaceful atmosphere is who we are seeking. Of course, there are also the many local award winning wineries and their restaurants to visit as well as other attractions in the area to enjoy.
We've a small section of grass that Donni has 24hr access to via a dog door that will likely require weekly mowing (depends on the season?), and inside/outside potted plants that require watering. Other than that there should be little to tend on the property during March 2025 other than picking produce you wish to enjoy or share with our lovely neighbours . The rest of the land is paddocks that will require no maintenance during our time away.
We've also a large organic veggie patch that provides varied organic produce year round (so help yourself) and a small vineyard on the property with a picnic table nearby to enjoy lunches near the vines.
The Warburton Rail Trail is a short walking distance away offering wonderful walking and cycling opportunities.
Police check(s) and numerous references are essential.
Oh, and if you've a caravan or motorhome we've ample room to accommodate parking. While we can provide safe parking of a caravan or motorhome please note that we are seeking sitters who will reside in our house full time (i.e. including sleeping in the house, not mobile accommodation) to keep Donni company and not disrupt his routine :o)
