Melbourne - Yarra-Dandenong Ranges
Elle
Our 10 acre hobby farm is located in Kangaroo Ground, a relaxed leafy location on the outskirts of Melbourne and on the doorstep to the Yarra Valley. Despite feeling peaceful and secluded, our home is only a short drive to the townships of Hurstbridge and Warrandyte, St Andrews market and the convenience of Eltham and Diamond Creek. We are also in close proximity to the train to Melbourne City.
The accomodation is a self contained studio. It has two bedrooms set up as offices but the sofa bed in the lounge room is very comfortable. There is a kitchen, bathroom, meals space, and a TV. WIFI is available. The entire property has excellent phone reception. Outside there is a relaxing outdoor sitting space with views of rolling hills and a heated swimming pool which you are welcome to use. There is also an abundance of gardens and paddocks to explore.
We share our home with our four legged family members, including 1 cat, 2 dogs, 2 ponies and 6 sheep. All of our animals have lovely temperaments and are relatively low maintenance. I will provide our sitter with detailed notes on each of our furry friends but generally our morning and evening routines are as follows:
Morning:
- Let ‘Mr Latte’ out of his cat cubby
- Feed 11 year old staffy ‘Jax’ & 6 month old German Shorthaired Pointer ‘Buddy’ - we also take Jax and Buddy for a walk around the property in the mornings (but this could take place any time of the day). While out, we check the water troughs say hello to Ginger and Chino, our Shetland ponies.
- Give a scoop of lamb pellets to Mia and Lexi, our 4 month old lambs and say hello to our very friendly flock of sheep (Jonathan, Megs, Charlotte & Oreo).
Evening:
- Feed Latte and close his cubby for the night.
- Feed Buddy his dinner (he’s our only pet who eats twice a day).
