Perth - Southern Suburbs
Yoke
My partner and I will be heading overseas on the night of Friday 13 December 2024 and returning on the late afternoon of Wednesday 1 January 2025. We are hoping to find someone to house and pet sit for our handsome greyhound - Teddy. We are not willing to put Teddy in a kennel as we would much prefer he stays in the comfort of his own home.
Teddy easy to look after. Teddy loves people, he loves his squeaky toy and he loves being close to his humans. He loves jumping into bed with you if you allow him to and will follow you around the house.
We live in a 3 by 1 house. You will have a cosy guest room that is away from the busy street. There is also parking space if you have a car. It's secure parking as our house is gated.
The person who is happy to house and pet sit for us will need to be neat and tidy. It'll be awesome if you can help with watering our indoor plants and also the front garden.
We are situated in a prime location:
- 14 to 20 mins drive to the City or get the 930 bus to head into the city and back
- buses to take you to Cannington Station, Thornlie Station or Bull Creek Station
- 20 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive to Carousel Shopping Centre
- 2 mins drive to Lynwood IGA (local shopping district for basic necessities or groceries)
- 2 mins walk to a local GP
- 20 mins drive to Vic Park for all the great eateries
You are very welcome to use the facilities we have in our home - kitchen, laundry, air conditioning, food in the pantry etc. Basically we want you to feel like you are in your home for the next 2 weeks of your stay. You are also very welcome to use our internet - 250G worth of downloads - and we will provide you with our Netflix details where you can chill at home and watch movies/tv series to your heart's content.
Teddy can be quite boisterous, especially when you are getting ready to walk him. So, we will need someone who is happy to be patient and settle him down before putting on his harness and lead. He likes to be the leader and tends to want to walk in front of you. He can be quite reactive to other dogs, so some distance between him and the dog will be needed and the best thing for you to do is to muzzle him on his walk.
He does love a long walk - about 30 - 45 minutes, once a day. Or two small walks - 20 mins in the morning and 20 mins in the evening - will be sufficient. He will then sleep most of the day or just play with his squeaky toy.
He is also able to be left for more than 8 hours a day, so it's fine if you are working, or would like to go out for the day.
We will definitely provide you with a briefing on how to care for Teddy.
We look forward to hearing from you.
