Northern Victoria - Bendigo
Annette
House & Local Area:
Our 3-bedroom house with a large outdoor BBQ area is located in Campbells Creek (only a 5-minute drive from Castlemaine) in the heart of Victoria. There is something for everyone to discover in a town renowned for its rich gold rush history, eclectic arts scene, antiques and collectables, markets, cafe culture, wineries, breweries and cideries and great food set in stunning local landscapes. Melbourne is only 120 kilometres northwest by road, 90 minutes by train, and surrounding tourist towns include Bendigo, Daylesford and Maldon, all within 20-40 minutes away.
Pets:
We have 2 dogs (a border collie cross and toy poodle) and one cat. All pets live indoors at night and switch between the outdoors and indoors throughout the day.
Night:
All are toilet trained and will let you know when they wish to go outside. The dogs are let out once late in the evening and do not need to go again until morning. The kitty litter box is brought inside overnight. The dogs sleep inside in their beds. The cat is very affectionate, very chilled and stays indoors overnight with the cat curfew, otherwise she is happy to find a sunny spot to nap or roam in the backyard.
Exercise:
The border collie enjoys being outside on sunny days, especially when a ball is thrown, while the poodle prefers to stay close to human contact. The dogs will happily stay indoors while you visit the local area and surrounds. The dogs prefer to run in the yard for exercise and do not require walking. They may enjoy going for a walk if that suits your lifestyle. The poodle also enjoys going in the car to accompany you on short trips.
Feeding/ Grooming:
The pets are fed once in the late afternoon but enjoy a few treats throughout the day. Both dogs will be bathed/clipped before we leave but can be bathed if necessary.
Garden Care:
The house is situated on a large residential block. Mowing will be organised by us throughout our time away. The garden and pots will require watering twice a week in Summer. Most of the garden is close to the house. We have been establishing gardens on an area that was dedicated to horses in the past, so the lawns do not require any watering.
