We need a house sitter

Melbourne - North

Jessica

We are heading interstate to visit family over the festive season and are looking for a dog and house sitter. Ideally, we are after a minimum of two people because of the different requirements of our two dogs when it comes to walking.

About Finn:

Finn is a large border collie X who we rescued six years ago. He is approximately thirteen years old so can only do shorter walks with lots of sniffing.
He does every now and then get a burst of energy but does not have the stamina he used to. He is very friendly with other dogs.
We would like the pet sitter to keep him on lead for his walks due to his unreliable recall, particularly when there is something else he deems more interesting.
Finn has a dog door which he uses throughout the day and night, due to limited bladder control (or maybe was never toilet trained).
Finn has some supplements with his breakfast and dinner, and takes these with no problem.

About Reggie:

Reggie is an eight year old lab X.
He is a dream in the house, however has now become reactive to other dogs after being attacked a few years ago by another dog.
Due to this, we would like the dog sitter to keep him on lead for walks at all times.
You will need to be vigilant and careful about other dogs around (small dogs are mostly fine).
You will need to divert away when required.
Reggie is much more active than Finn and so requires longer walks or going for a run. Reggie will not use the dog door, but is able to hold himself during the day (e.g. while at work) and overnight.
Reggie has medicine with his dinner which we hide with peanut butter and is usually fine.

Both dogs are very affectionate in the house and love pats and snuggles, especially on the couch after dinner!

About the house:
Our home is a two storey modern house located on a quiet street. It is the front unit of three on the block.
There is a large park at the end of the road where we walk the dogs.
Downstairs is a large open plan living/ dining/ kitchen with laundry and powder room. There is a medium sized courtyard with table and chairs and washing line. Upstairs is master bedroom with ensuite, second bedroom, family bathroom and study/ bedroom with foldout couch.
The house is very conveniently located - just off Sydney road, about five minutes walk to the train station (Merlynston station, on the Upfield line) and about 10 minutes walk to the last stop of the 19 tram.
There is free parking on the street.

About you:
We are ideally looking for more than one person due to the different requirements of our dogs outside of the house. This can either be a couple, two friends, small family (no small children). Dogs need to be walked daily, either separately if it is one person or can be walked together if there are two people.
House maintenance includes picking up dog poop in the garden and occasional watering of pot plants.
The dogs are fine to be left at home for equivalent time of a work day (but still need to be fed breakfast and dinner!).

We will provide you with detailed instructions, emergency contacts and everything you may need to know.
