Hunter Valley - Newcastle
Amelia
Bright and cosy miners cottage, home away from home with one friendly cat who needs some love, food and attention while my partner and I are away over Christmas and New Year's.
Our dates are:
Sunday 22 December 2024 - Saturday 4 January 2025
We would leave in the morning around 8-9am on Sunday in December and be back the Saturday evening in January.
We're looking for someone reliable, who has experience with cats, and with pets with extra needs.
Tess has a congenital esophageal issue. She eats on a simple elevated plate and has small meals throughout the day to keep her food down (if you're heading out during the day a few spaced out meals in the morning and in the evening are okay). That's all there is to it! So we need someone who can be here and can commit to this.
Also someone who doesn't mind watering our herb garden on hot days.
Tess loves being brushed, chasing string with a q-tip attached to it, doing tricks for treats, and snuggling with a blanket on your lap in the evenings (she will tell you when it's blanket and movie time!).
Our 1910s miners cottage sits on a wide street in lovely historical Carrington, Newcastle, just back from the mangrove walk, parks, community gardens and a popular bowls club. It is only a 1-10 min walk to a range of cafes, a gin bar, local pubs and restaurants. A bus goes direct to the city and interchange from outside our house. Or it's pleasant 30 minute walk through the village and along the water to the interchange and Hunter Street. Plenty of wide streets to ride your bike. Relax on the front or back deck, in one of the parks or on the sand by the side of the creek.
This is a haven away from the bustle of the city, yet so close to the nightlife, parks and beaches that make Newcastle unique.
Our house has a kitchen, lounge room, dining area, hallway and bathroom with a toilet, shower over a full-sized bath and basin. If you have mobility issues you may struggle getting into the bath.
We have a gas oven and stove and dishwasher in the kitchen. The laundry has a large washing machine and dryer.
You can see the 9pm Newcastle New Year's fireworks from the port, only a short stroll from our house. Most of the suburb goes down to watch them from over the water.
If you have a car there's plenty of on-street parking in the area.
Experienced Cat Friends, please send an inquiry. We kindly request no families or children please. :)
