Looking for someone or a couple who loves dogs to housesit my Speewah home. I have 2 friendly Labradors who like a lot of attention, and a few chickens. There is a large verandah overlooking a private lake and on a peaceful 5 acres bordering rainforest. You cannot see or hear the world.

Speewah is a beautiful part of the world. If you love nature then this is the place for you. We are surrounded by national parks with many swimmable, crystal clear creeks & beautiful hikes/tracks. The Wildlife is abundant in this area.

December/January in tropical north Queensland is very hot, wet and humid. Fortunately we are 500m above sea level so it does take the edge off the heat/humidity in the tropics. Generally it is 5 degrees cooler than Cairns/the coast up here.

Duties involve:

The dogs need to be:
~ brought inside at dusk so they don't chase the nocturnal wildlife
~ fed morning & night

The chickens need their:
~ coop closed every night
~ food & water topped up every 3 days
~ eggs collected daily

The gardens need:
~ some weeding & tidying
(A contractor will take care of all the mowing)

Location:
- 10 mins to Kuranda Village (IGA supermarket, cafes, Kuranda train/skyrail & markets)
- 25 mins to Smithfield shopping centre (Woolworths, Coles, KMart & many restaurants)
- 30 mins to Cairns northern beaches
- 40 mins to the Cairns airport
