The house is located on acreage (mostly agisted to neighbour) with extensive views to the north; about one mile off bitumen road. Byron Bay, Ballina and the coast are easily accessible as are the local National Parks. Plenty of lovely places to visit; walks and picnics. The Channon has a small general store/post office and unleaded petrol/diesel.
Lismore is 20-25 minutes away along a bitumen road; two shopping centres with eateries etc in the CBD. Coles, Big W, Woolies and other chain stores.
The pet is :
1 neutered rescue female cat (Trixie)
House is easy care; brick and tile,, big verandahs and plenty of natural light and space. Comfortable beds. Kitchen electric, no gas. No microwave or dishwasher. Undercover car parking and room to park a van/mobile home. Telstra landline, internet and Wi-Fi.
Sorry, have to say no to pets as Trixie is quite territorial; also the property is not really suitable for children as we have extensive creek frontage and unfenced dams.
This sit is to enable us to visit our daughter in Queensland so little chance of us being unable to return home within the stated timeframe!
We plan to be away for 4 nights only but as it would be ideal if our sitter could arrive the day previous to our departure the actual time would be 5 nights..

A soul healing pocket of paradise and pleasure to house sit. Trixie was relaxed, a little cheeky but happy to do her own thing and easy to care for. The house is spacious, comfortable and welcoming. The views are spectacular. Pat is lovely, easy going and a great communicator.
Our time at The Channon caring for Trixie was so memorable & special for us.
Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Pat and Bill & we felt immediately welcome. We chatted away like old friends well into the evening ahead of their departure early the following morning. Trixie introduced herself to us very quickly which also helped us feel at ease.
Trixie is an adorable cat, very independent but also affectionate & gives the biggest head-butts when you hold out your hand to her.

Trixie was such fun to look after. She is very low maintenance and has a great personality. Pat & Bill were very lovely people and they have a beautiful home. Communication was great and everything was explained to me clearly which helped me to feel confident in caring for the home and Trixie. I would happily sit again if the stars align 🥰
What a fantastic housesit! We appreciate the opportunity Pat and Bill gave us to house and pet sit for them. There are some truly beautiful places and interesting towns close to The Channon. Pat's clear instructions and communications for Trixie's care made our stay easy. Trixie is a lively two year old cat (still a kitten really) and kept us entertained with her mischievous behaviour.
