Northern Victoria - Shepparton & Central North
Penny
Our home is situated on 40 acres, just 8 kms west of Echuca, and our land backs onto the Murray River. Echuca is a lovely rural tourist town in Northern Victoria. Famous for its Paddle steamers. Echuca’s population is around 15000 with plenty to see and do, good restaurants and services.
The house is 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, north facing with verandahs all the way round. Heating is 2 wood fired heaters with plenty of firewood provided. Cooling is evaporative and ducted through out the house. There is Wifi and mobile phone reception. There is a salt water pool that is lovely to swim in during summer
The gardens are large with fruit and vegie gardens, lawn and cottage garden. It is well maintained with automatic watering so you only need to check it is all working and harvest what you might find. There is always weeding to do in gardens but not expected for a short stay. There is also half a dozen indoor plants to water once a week.
The lawn will require mowing once a week during summer.
Our farmlet has 7 irrigated paddocks and over 20 acres of redgum bush. All paddocks have automatic water troughs. Our bush adjoins the Murray River Reserve giving you access to over 6 kms of walking/riding tracks and fishing in the Murray River.
The animals you need to care for include 1 horse and 3 angus cross heifers. The horse (Remie) needs feeding morning and night. Remie is well behaved and easy to handle but you need to feel confident changing his rug once a week and giving him a brush and make sure his fly veil is ok. The heifers are also very friendly and come when you call. They will have hay and grass but need checking each day. Horse and/or stock knowledge would be great as you never know what mishaps animals are going to have.
There is plenty of room to park a caravan if required.
