We need a house sitter

South Eastern - Sunshine Coast

Judy

Sitter required for 6 weeks for our home on 1 acre to look after gardens and feed one small ageing Dachschund, Benji.
Enjoy country living but only 14 minutes from the CBD of Gympie in SEQld, and 45 minutes to Tin Can Bay and much the same now to Noosa. The Gympie bypass has just been opened, so access to the Bruce H'way is less than 5 minutes away,
We have a large garden, although low maintenance, but quite a few pot plants and shade house plants / orchids, which will require watering every 5-7 days, depending on the weather.
We have a ride-on mower for mowing the lawn, as well as a push mower.
A vege garden may need a watering once or twice weekly also, during your stay, if you want to use the produce, which has been deliberately limited, because of our absence, unless we have rain.
The house is still relatively new and on ground level. An open carport suitable for a motorhome or large caravan is available if required by sitter. Because we had a motorhome, access and the ability to turn it around is catered for. The house is on tank water, so sitter must be prepared to conserve water, although there is ample water - 15,000 gallons.
Benji (Dachschund) is profoundly deaf. He has access to the back yard which is enclosed but spends most of the time in the house. He's 14 1/2 years old. He can be left alone during the day on occasions so that you have the freedom to explore the area, but we ask that you can be here every night. Unfortunately he no longer enjoys travelling in the car.
Your own dog is welcome. I just ask that you be mindful that Benji is an aged dog and is not very tolerant of rough puppies anymore.
Note, the review was when we lived in our previous home.

Reviews (1)
No rating Judy and Barry's home at The Dawn is located in a quiet paradise. The garden, lawns and pets are easy to care for. The house is very comfortable and Judy and Barry are generous, friendly Queenslanders. Our thanks to them for allowing us to spend 9 weeks over the Christmas/New Year period in such a peaceful haven.
