We need a house sitter

Sydney - Northern Beaches

Viv

I live in a 2 bedroom detached house on a hill amongst the trees in North Narrabeen, on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. I have a large deck out the back of the house which is north facing and perfect to watch the local birds and enjoy the breeze coming off the ocean. If you squint from the right spot you can see the ocean hit the rocks at Narrabeen Ocean pool! The street is fairly quiet and the neighbours are great. The garden brings me much joy, I’m a keen gardener with lawn top and bottom of the property and a couple of vegetable beds.

I have a rescue dog, Jimi. He’s 10 years old, very handsome and very laidback whilst at home. He loves his home, and he loves company. I’m very protective of Jimi, he has learning difficulties due to anxiety but is a gorgeous sensitive quiet soul. He is reactive to other animals, dogs especially so is always walked on leash and needs plenty of space from other dogs. He is never let off leash out of home. He has no recall off leash and is an absolute menace to other animals and has no road sense whatsoever. If passing another dog we’ll walk the other side of a parked car, or just pop up a driveway and wait for them to pass. It’s not hard, if he’s pulling, he doesn’t have enough space so needs more. He takes medication in the mornings after his walk, this is for his anxiety…it's just a tablet wrapped in a piece of chicken sausage, no big deal. He's very gentle. Due to his anxiety I’d need to find someone who’s happy to stick close to his usual routine….. Once you get into the routine he’s super easy and laidback. I have a manual with all his needs so it’s easy to follow. He’s not hard, I’m just very protective of him!

I love my garden, not as much as Jimi but I enjoy it very much and try to keep on top of it, it can be a bit of a jungle at times. I’d leave it all up together so nothing would need to be done, the vege beds will have automatic timers, as will the rest of the garden, so no work required. Unless you love weeding then of course who am I to stop you! There’s always weeding to be done! There are a few house plants which will just need one little drink whilst we’re away, nothing too hectic though.
