We need a house sitter

Brisbane - Southern Suburbs

Jacqueline

Hi

We are heading away for a few days just before Christmas and need someone to look after the fur babies while we're gone - an Australian Shepherd (3), Border Collie (2) and two cats.

We live in a lovely Queenslander close to the river and city in a quiet suburb so it's a great place with really easy connectivity to the city, motorway and more.

I work from home so the animals are used to having someone around a lot of the time but they are able to get out into the garden during the day so there's no need for you to be home all the time. We would prefer someone who can be here at least part of each day though.

The cats are allowed outside during the day but have to come in when it gets dark and stay in overnight. Generally they just lie around the house though!

The dogs are, however, active breeds so will need someone who can get them out for at least 30 minutes twice a day. There is a dog park just 5 minutes walk away though so you don't have to go to far but there are also lots of lovely walks straight from the house too.

Fast internet and Netflix are available and we have a pool (although the back garden is currently a work in progress) and reverse cycle aircon in the bedrooms and main living space.

No gardening or any other duties are expected other than basic cleaning up after yourself. It's mainly about feeding and providing company for the pets.

Look forward to hearing from you

Thanks!

Beautiful animals and house in a great location. It was hard to leave the two dogs they’re so gorgeous. Relaxed and communicative owner.

SYDNEY & LEWIS (Jun 2024 - 3 nights)
Hi all. I had the pleasure of house sitting for Jacqueline and caring for her 4 beautiful fur babies. Two cats her were very sweet and 2 gorgeous Border Collies who were a dream to look after and lots of fun. The dog park is really close, the area is lovely and close to transport and supermarkets. The house is a beautiful open plan Queenslander, so really comfortable. Jacqueline is super friendly and a great communicator. Sadly, the sit was only for one night but, hopefully, next time, I'd ... KATE (May 2024 - 1 night)
We had a lovely time with Echo and Coda, great dogs with lots of energy. We enjoyed our time with them very much. The cats kept to themselves but gave us a cuddle from time to time. House was in a great location if you wanted to see abit of Brisbane too.

SHAILA & GERARDO (Apr 2024 - 6 nights)
It was lovely to be invited back once again to look after Coda, MJ and Artemis. And of course meet the new puppy Echo! He's a puppy, so I expected the exuberant behaviour and we got on well. His manners are coming along (still learning to walk to heel) and he's great company. The cats warmed to me too. Jacqueline has a tidy, well-equipped home in a quiet location that's very convenient for bus, boat and train. Lovely to enjoy the winter sunshine from the front verandah - home away from home!

It was lovely to look after Coda, MJ and Artemis again over Easter. Coda has certainly grown up! He retains a great sense of fun and energy, which coupled with his smart brain and good training, make him a pleasure to take out in public. The cats were very relaxed and enjoyed being around us for pats and naps. The house was very clean and comfortable and is in a great location for accessing South Bank and the city. We enjoyed the new addition of the swimming pool! Thanks Jacqueline, we'd be ... MORE

Jacqueline was very organised and helpful. We maintained good communication before and throughout our stay, and felt welcome at all times. The house is spacious and comfortable, so we felt 'at home' in their family space. The pets are delightful - a smart and active Australian Shepherd puppy who relished our company and two cats who took a couple of days to get used to us but were no trouble while they did so in their own time. We'd recommend the location for anyone visiting central Brisbane.

We had a lovely time at Jacqueline's lovely home looking after Harper, MJ and Artemis. Harper was our constant companion and we enjoyed walks to Uni Of Qld and along the river. The girls were easy care and just turned up at meal times. Communication was great and we had clear instructions on the routines of the pets.

LINDA (Jan 2021 - 3 days)
The house is a lovely Queenslander not far from the city. The home has an open plan, with all your living areas down one side, and cool verandas to relax on. The pets are a King Charles Spaniel, "Harper" who is a delightful affectionate dog, and the cats, one hides most of the day, and the other just hangs out watching or snoozing. Lots of interesting walks close-by through parklands, or admiring some gorgeous restored homes. Shopping, Coles and Aldi are only a short drive. The owners ... MORE

JOHN (Dec 2020 - 5 days)
Jacqueline was amazing to sit for. The house is fabulous and was clean and tidy on arrival. They have a lovely garden and pool and were very clear with instructions and are great to communicate with during the stay. The fur babies are the best and we were sad to leave them. Lovely stay!

MISHA (Dec 2019 - 6 days)
Jacqueline's family's home is a lovely, stylish Queenslander, a delight to share the company of their 3 little ones. Jacqueline was wonderfully competent, with full written details, needed for even a short sit, to best care for their pet family. Jacqueline was so kindly, too, with suggestions on eg coffee shops, cinemas & food trucks. The three pets were easy to care for, the dog a 'softie', the cats mostly preferring their own company. Near the Brisbane River, this spacious home is ... MORE
