Hi,
We are looking for somebody to take care of Dempsey, our sweet 10 year old Staffy x Mastiff at home in our modern, conveniently located apartment in Alexandria, Sydney.
Dempsey is a rescue dog and had a tough start to life. While he is an absolute delight around the house, he sometimes gets stressed out in public and can be reactive towards other dogs. We would prefer a sitter who has some previous experience with rescues or anxious dogs, or is at least confident handling larger dogs.
Also, it is really helpful to us if you can acknowledge in your application that you understand/are comfortable with this, just to ensure we're setting everyone up for success.
At home he's a big softy, and will take all the cuddles and belly rubs you can offer! :)
Dempsey needs 30-45 minutes walk both morning and evening and a quick pee break before bed. He'll generally snooze throughout the day but loves to play during the evenings.
Our place is a modern 2 bed apartment with a lovely sunny courtyard on a very quiet side street.. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants and a few breweries within a few minutes walk, and an easy stroll to Redfern, Erskineville or Newtown. Woolies and Dan Murphys are a minute away.
We have unlimited NBN WiFi and a home office set up if you want to WFH, and Netflix available for when you don't want to work!
The apartment is 10 minutes up to the CBD by train, or 35 through to Bondi Junction, 1 train stop to Sydenham for exploring the amazing Marrickville breweries!
Liz and Brad were absolutely fantastic to house sit for. Their home is a Beautiful, cosy and decorative space, located in a lovely neighbourhood with lots of cute cafes. Dempsey is a little sweetheart. He was great company and loved his Walkies. Thank you for trusting me in your home and with your puppy 🙏
We had the pleasure to sit Dempsey for a couple of days and we had a great time!
There was mutual love from the first minute, he is a really cute dog and we are sad to leave him. The communication with Brad & Liz was easy and they were fast responsive.
If we are back in Sydney, happy to sit here again!
House & Pet sitting for Brad & Liz was wonderful! The house is clean and comfortable and really well located close to great restaurants and cafes and parks. Their communication was excellent leading up to and during my sit.
Dempsey is a beautiful happy dog. A little reactive as Brad and Liz prepared me for but there wwere absolutely no issues with his behaviour and no surprises. I would happily sit Demspey again.

Liz and Brad are great, and Dempsey is just a big gentle softy. Their place is lovely and is in an excellent location. I really enjoyed looking after Dempsey. He is just so friendly and loving. He will even shake your hand before eating! Thanks Liz and Brad – hope to see you again sometime.
Liz and Brad were very kind and great hosts the whole time of our stay looking after Dempsey.
Dempsey is an adorable and playful dog who just needs special attention when he goes for his walks. For this reason, Brad and Liz explained very well how to do it and gave us all the instructions in writing, so it was very easy to handle it.
We really enjoyed our weekend looking after Dempsey enjoying the comforts of the house and the surroundings.
Brad and Liz were wonderful hosts! They provided clear and prompt communication and the written instructions they left were so useful. The apartment was great, and the location was amazing. There is a dog park outside the building in addition to a variety of beautiful walking routes all around Wolli Creek.

We had a wonderful time sitting sweet Dempsey in Liz and Brad's darling home! Dempsey takes a little time to warm up to you but then it is on; lots of snuggles, licks and love! Liz and Brad were amazing as well, left us clear and helpful information, and were easily reachable. We definitely recommend sitting here if you have the opportunity. Thanks again guys!
I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Dempsey, he is a gorgeous pup to spend time with. Brad and Liz'z communication was always prompt and clear. They gave great instructions on all things relating to Dempsey and also their apartment and local neighbourhood. If you enjoy walking an active dog twice daily this is a great housesit! Dempsey is a fun, affectionate StaffyX and we enjoyed his company immensely. Communication with Brad was straightforward, clear and detailed instructions were left about looking after Dempsey and the apartment. It's well located to Redfern station and many great cafes. A great place to stay for easy access to the city & surrounds. Thanks for having us!
Brad's apartment is quiet, clean and well located in Alexandria, an easy walk to Redfern Station and Eddy's Bakery (for their tasty Vietnamese baguettes!) with Netflix provided.
His written instructions are well thought out and easy to follow.
His dog Dempsey is large, incredibly lovable, well behaved and quiet at home.
He loves to follow you around, sit and cuddle his teddy on his bed and give you plenty of licks. He didn't even bark when we arrived for the sit.

We loved looking after Dempsey. Friendly playful and affectionate character.
Bigger dog experience would be required to look after him as he's a strong boy and quite energetic when walking, but easily controlled.
Brad and Liz apartment is super central close to Redfern Station and many coffee shops within walking distance.
We would be more than happy to sit for them again in the future.
We had a wonderful time looking after the gorgeous Dempsey dog on the two sits we've done with him. Dempsey's human parents Brad and Liz were really welcoming, appreciative and thoughtful - they even gave us a thank you card & box of choccies! They left us very useful instructions and recommendations of local places we could visit. Dempsey is very loving and a lot of fun - he made us laugh lots. We'd happily come back and house sit again any time!
Care for someone else's pets, go for walks in a brand new place... Surprise yourself and expand your horizons.
