Central Coast - Bundaberg & Wide Bay
Ana
Will suit people who love dogs (free cuddles!) and organic gardens (free fruit and veggies!).
We are looking for someone to look after our three beloved rescue greyhounds, Archer (11), Freddie/Frieda (6) and Scout (6) for approximately a month (but we are flexible - 3 weeks would be fine too).
Our hounds are low maintenance, easy-going and lazy dogs, who just need a 20 minute walk in the cool of the day. The rest of the time they will sleep, apart from breakfast and dinner time, when they will temporarily turn into pigs. Freddie (Frieda) and Scout have only been with us for about two years and they are loving their new lives and are very happy girls. Freddie is very caring and loving: she always worries about other dogs and also humans if she thinks someone is upset or hurt, and she always has lots of kisses for everyone. Scout is smart and loving and loves to explore outside and also has a special smile where she shows her teeth in a very cute way. She loves a hug. Archer is a bit of an old man these days and is the most chilled out greyhound you’ll ever meet. He loves sleeping a LOT but also enjoys his walks and having cuddles. We are ideally looking for someone who won't have to leave the dogs for long days, as we work/study from home and they are not used to being alone for long periods.
We have a small Queenslander, which is within easy walking distance of the shops and weekly markets, and it's in a quiet area. Maryborough is a pretty town with everything you need and some nice parks. Hervey Bay is 30 minutes away, and has beautiful beaches. You are also welcome to go and hang out (or even stay) at my parents’ beach shack (which does have AC) at Poona, which is a nice quiet beachside town 30 mins from our place. Our house is not fancy or flashy and is un-renovated (a couple of rooms haven't been touched since the 1990s) but it is very liveable. Please note that it does not have AC, and it can get hot and humid at that time of year in Maryborough. It's on a one-acre block which you can explore or ignore; totally up to you. It is a long thin block so looks like a normal suburban block from the road. We have a large organic veggie garden (help yourself to all you can eat!) and a young fruit orchard (there will definitely be lots of ripe bananas, and maybe other fruits too). The garden is a bit of a jungle and we like it that way, so there won't be any work for you to do in it, apart from harvesting and eating the vegetables. We have many types of tropical vegetables, so if you are interested in Asian cooking, you could try making some authentic recipes.🙂
If this sounds like something that interests you, please get in touch. 🙂
