We need a house sitter

Brisbane - Southern Suburbs

Sue

Our cosy family home is a 2 minute walk from Fairfield train station, and a 12 min train ride to the best that Brisbane has to offer: South Bank, Street's Beach, the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) and the Queensland State museum.
Central Brisbane city is 15 min away on the train. There's also a bus to downtown Brisbane and Fortitude Valley which leaves from near our house. The house is in a fairly quiet neighbourhood, but it's conveniently close to most of Brisbane's attractions.

The house is a traditional 1940s Queenslander, which means that it is a wooden house up on stilts: there's a big space under the house for playing, laundry, and storage. It's got hardwood floors throughout, and traditional ornate wooden features. You can enjoy staying in an authentic subtropical Queenslander home.
The house suits up to 2 adults and one child.
We are very close to a large shopping centre with supermarket, chemist, library, newsagent, and bakery. We are within a block of great parks, and a lovely cafe, and within a couple of blocks of bike paths and the Brisbane river. It's a short bike ride to the Green Bridge, which you can cross to get to the University of Queensland, with its pool, running tracks, and walking tracks.

We have wifi, TV and air conditioning/heating.

We have 1 easy-care cat for you to feed and enjoy.

My small, productive vege garden needs watering every day (takes 5-10 mins).

Ideally you'll need to be available to come around and meet me beforehand,

Andrew ( the cat ) is very friendly and laid back , it was a pleasure to care for him- Sue was very welcoming , leaving easy to follow instructions. The location is great, it took me less than two minutes to walk to the shopping centre. Jan - full-time house sitter

JAN (Oct 2024 - 2 nights)
It’s been a delightful house sit. Sue is an incredible human being, the house is filled with love and stories. It’s a place that makes you feel good. Andrew the big old chatty boy’s as sweet as moody when missing his owner: he’s so attached that he barely ate during my whole stay. Very well behaved, affectionate and low maintenance cat, the chillest boy in the block. Thank you Sue for this amazing opportunity!

LUCA (Mar 2024 - 3 nights)
We enjoyed looking after Andrew for Sue whilst she was away and staying in her Queenslander home that had lots of character. The house was in a great location and made it very easy to go into the city. It also very convenient to have the shops so closeby, very easy if you needed to just dash down for some last minute ingredients. The garden was very easy to maintain and it was actually nice to have a routine of watering it each morning, noticing the seedlings growing a little bit each day. ... MORE

ALISTER AND LYDIA (Apr 2023 - 2 weeks)
Sue is an easygoing client and a great communicator. Her house is easy to maintain as is her wonderful cat, Andrew. You can throw a stone from her house and hit the shops. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Thanks, Sue

No rating Sue was great with her communication and instructions re the animals and garden were very clear. We had a great week staying at Sue's house - gorgeous Queenslander, close to all amenities, shops, cafes, restaurants and public transport. We highly recommend her to for anyone considering a house sit. Thanks for everything Sue
TRACEY (Dec 2017 - 2 weeks 3 days)
No rating It was a pleasure to look after Sue's place and cats. The house is cute and warm. The cats are easy to look after and there is of course, a lot to do and discover nearby. Shops, cafes and public transport very close by. Sue left us detailed information and responded quickly to any queries we had during our stay. Recommended. Thanks!
