We need a house sitter

Regional NSW - North West Slopes

Jan

W need retired farmers if possible or preferably someone with some experience with cattle to look after our home and farm. No farm work, only if necessary possibly feeding cattle and checking water points, however if you prefer not to have the responsibility of the cattle, we can try to organise a neighbour to look after that side of things. Watering in the garden and pot plants, and possibly mowing the lawn if it needs it. A self propelled plus a ride on mower available. The 2 dogs are good natured, one is a cross bred dog that is a good watch dog but very friendly, and 1 old retired kelpie who is the sweetest dog. The younger dog needs a walk every morning to burn off energy and the old girl follows along. There are 3 chooks so there will be plenty of eggs. There will be vegies available in the vegie garden which will need watering. We also feed the local native parrots and wild birds. Our house is an old farm house that has been nicely renovated so it is convenient and comfortable, our sitters can live in the house or in their van and use the amenities, whatever suits. Sitters must agree not to have anyone else living in our house or visiting our farm who we don't know, especially children (farms can be dangerous places for kids). We prefer an older person or couple with no children. We will allow 1 dog belonging to the sitters if necessary provided it does NOT come inside the house and gets on with our dogs, ours are pretty sociable. No Dogs Inside! BBQ with gas bottle available on back deck for sitters' use. Lovely spot on the Peel River, fishing allowed, catch and release. Some lovely walks on the property and good photography opportunities. 30 minutes drive from Tamworth and about the same to the lovely tourist destination of Nundle, about 6klms to the local Hotel which has great meals, 7.5klms to the village of Woolomin where there is a good little general store with takeaway available.
Tamworth has all services, supermarkets aplenty, picture theatre, restaurants and cafes.

We had a lovely time looking after Jan & Ross's property, dogs, cattle, sheep, chooks & garden. It brought back lots of farm memories for us both. The house was lovely and comfortable. Jan & Ross were a lovely couple and the surroundings were amazing. We loved it so much that we are going back later in the year to look after their property pets and animals Thank you so much for everything.
