Janna

Our 3 bedroom house Is located in a quiet culdesac, walking distance to town. We have a haphazard but beautiful garden full of veggies, dahlia’s, sunflowers, zinneas, peaches, cherries and plums. Our chooks are good layers and our dogs love human company. Zues the cat is boss of our street.

The bedrooms all have fans and there is AC in the master bedroom and the loungeroom. Our kitchen is open plan with an induction cooktop and electrive oven.

There are 2 toilets in the house (both work), however the shower/bath in the house is about to be renovated and so can’t be used. Instead we shower in the studio – a self-contained building in our backyard that I use as a painting studio.

Armidale is a friendly, sweet town and close to lots of awesome bushwalks and hikes. We especially love the Cathedral Rock and New England National Parks.

Info about our pets is below. The garden will need watering but that's it, we don't expect you to mow unless you'd like to :)

PETS

DOG 1: Marcel (9)

• Feed once a day (usually about 5pm). Two large scoops of dog biscuits. Food is in white tin bucket on back porch. Extra in laundry.
• He drinks water out of the outdoor fishpond on the edge of the back patio (next to lemon tree). Fill up with hose if you notice it getting low.
• Give a bone (bag in freezer) if heading out, as this will keep him happy so he doesn’t bark.
• Needs to be let out for 5 mins before you go to sleep at night, otherwise he will poo in the house.
• Sleeps in the house, either in his mat in bedroom or next to fireplace in loungeroom. Never allowed on bed/blue couch
• Likes to be inside if you are home
• If he starts doing small little barks or being skittish he is probably trying to tell you he needs to go to the toilet.
• Will jump up and grab food if you let him /don’t leave food out.
• Walking: his lead is in the laundry. I take the same bags I use for cat litter (above litter, with cat food). He loves a walk or an excusion and will happily go with you wherever you want. He doesn’t like being tied up and left alone at the shops though and will bark until you return. He loves pats from anyone and everyone.

DOG 2: LUCKY (under 1 yr)
• Lucky arrived unannounced, very hungry and scrawny on the 14th September 2024. He’s brand new and super cute!
• By this Christmas he will be fed with Marcel once per day. Same routine as above.

CAT: Zeus (2)
• Half a tin of cat food morning and night. Water. Tins are in the laundry. Feed in the laundry so Marcel cannot get to the food!
• Cat litter has to be cleaned daily or he will wee somewhere else. There is a scooper above the litter as well as compostable bags. These get thrown in the green bin.
• There is new litter for when top ups are required. I generally change the tray and wash it out once a fortnight.
• Indoor cat so try not to let outside. He will get out if he can but its not a huge deal as long as it’s not overnight. We don’t like him outside because of native birds and reptiles.

CHOOKS:
• Check water and food every second day or so and give them your kitchen scraps (no avocado).
• Chook food is in the tin bin next to their feeder.
• Additional food in the shed if required.
• There is a black bucket outside the shed that has extra hay in it for their laying box if required.
DUCKS
• Roam free in the garden, eating slugs. No need to feed.
• Turn on hose and flush new water into duck pond every 3 days.

HOUSE

BINS: put out Thursday night for Friday am collection. Green bin only every 2 weeks.

DISHWASHER
Use on P3 (press P to change program). P1 gets stuck sometimes.

PROJECTOR/TV
• Pull down blockout blind as screen
• Make sure projector is on at the power-point to right of couch (Follow the lead from the ceiling)
• Click power on (white remote). Set remote aside.
• Small black apple tv remote:
o Click menu to activate. Might take a minute for screen to appear
o Use the blank track pad at top of remote to move around the screen (moving your thumb around the trackpad will move the curser).
o Click on the trackpad itself to select a service (eg Netflix). This will open the service.
o Use trackpad to find what you want to watch and click on it. Press play.
o Click menu to return to previous screen. Keep pressing it to return to overall menu.
o Adjust volume with + and – buttons.
• Turn off at power-point.
• NOTE: A yellow warning will appear saying that a new projector lamp is needed. Just ignore it, it will disappear eventually.

PLANTS
Indoor plants need to be watered about once per week. Some prefer less. Water the veggies on the balcony if you can and feel free to use them (kale/lettuce/herbs)

REVERSE CYCLE:
Point remote at unit to power on/off. Usually take about 10 mins to heat up the area. Up/down buttons control temperature.

SHEETS
If you want to change the sheets there are several containers under the bed with others in them.

STOVE TOP: Induction. Press the symbol for the burner you wish to activate, then press the number you want the heat to set at. 6/7 is a good general cooking heat. 9 will get it to boil quite quickly. The stove will beep if you get the control section wet. Just dry it and it should go back to normal.
