We are looking for someone (single/couple/family), preferably non-smoking, who will love looking after our 2 dogs, garden and house while we visit family and friends in Europe early next year.

We live on 12 acres with views to Mt Remarkable in Melrose, Southern Flinders Ranges. Melrose is a great place to visit for hikes and bike rides (we have 4 bikes at home which you could borrow). Plenty of space to park your own van and hook up to water and electricity, but staying in the house is also an option.

Our two dogs Mina (kelpie x labrador) and Mali (jack Russell) are very friendly with people, children, and most other dogs. They are part of our family and live mostly inside, but love spending time outside in the yard too. They stay in the kennel when none of us is home because of work and school (not regularly as we also work from home), but they are easy travellers and love to come along to places where they are allowed. They enjoy walks in the area and around the yard and any attention will be received with great pleasure.

The garden will need some attention too, but it won't be much. We have a relatively new lawn and have planted lots of native bushes, shrubs and trees that are growing happily. Some of them might need some watering, especially if it stays dry. Our pot plants and lawn will like some watering at times too. You will wake up to singing birds, buzzing bees and resting kangaroos in the paddocks around us.

We have recently done some renovations (new bathroom and living room with fire place and airconditiong for example), but are still in the process of doing up other rooms. If you have your own van, you do not need to worry about the dogs in the night time as they sleep in the hall way when we are away and don't need any people in the house during the night. If you are staying in the house they might like to keep you company or stay in the hall, whatever you prefer.

Our place is great for travelling families as we have a cubby, swings, sandpit, table tennis table, games etc. for kids that can be used. Single people and couples with a love of the outdoors will enjoy it too. The surroundings are beautiful and there are lots of nice places to visit like Melrose, Wirrabara forest, Appila Springs, Alligator Gorge and some port towns like Pirie, Augusta and Germein which are great for fishing and boating (we have two kayaks which you could use). Our neighbours are about 2 km away, so there is a lot of privacy.
