Janene
Close to beautiful beaches and Bellingen. Our four-acre property at Raleigh in Bellingen Shire is planted with rainforest and bird-attracting species and overlooks a billabong full of waterfowl and paddocks with grazing cows belonging to our neighbour. It's 12 minutes east of Bellingen, a quirky bohemian town known for its markets, music and arts festivals, less than 10 minutes drive from the beautiful beaches of Urunga and Mylestom and 20 minutes from the major centre of Coffs Harbour. The house is architect-designed with two ensuite bedrooms and sliding glass doors opening to a large deck facing the view to the north. It has reverse cycle air conditioning and ceiling fans, rainwater tanks and Starlink broadband.
We have a mixed flock of freeranging poultry who are fed twice a day - three chickens, three Guinea fowl. Only the chickens are locked up at night. We also have one indoor cat, Leia, ragdoll, 8yrs, and a beaglier called Honey, 7yrs, who has a large fenced area attached to the house but spends most of her time with us inside.
Honey enjoys a daily walk of about 45 minutes and has an extendable leash that allows her to stop and sniff. She isn't allowed out any of our closed gates without a leash because (a) the poultry and (b) being half beagle, she will take off after a scent.
Leia is an indoor-only cat to protect wildlife and her fluffy white fur coat. She’s allowed out on the deck, except when it's raining because lorikeets come to sit on the railing to dry off.
