We need a house sitter

South Eastern Victoria - Phillip Island

Christine

Unfortunately our booked house sitter has to leave earlier than the 1/1/25 so looking for a replacement .Hoping to go to Qld over the 2
week period .Horse x 1 only (brown)Ben 17yrs with some arthritis but fit and gentle may require hay biscuit feed twice daily on the 4 acre home block with no rug changes in summer . Need a horse happy person.
Garden is established and unlikely to require watering.
The vege garden may require watering in exchange for ready veges.
Land is undulating to moderately steep in places on one boundary beside a fenced off gully.
Home is 4 bedroom and elevated with steps to entry.
In a quiet court with friendly neighbours and short drive or walk to handy Grantville shops and beach.
Have IGA supermarket/bakery/country pantry/cafe /chemist etc and & alcohol outlets with 3 takeaway premises plus many attractions nearby. The beach has a pier and a boat ramp at Grantville.
Currently we have a Ikea kitchen in the open kitchen /living room which has polished floors. The house has a reverse cycle heater. & solar panels plus battery and being elevated is a great sun trap with a veranda 1/2 around house with pleasant outlook onto small acreage and visited by many native birds .Not far from popular bushwalking tracks.

The housesit for Christine & Peter was truly memorable and enjoyable. From the outset we felt completely at easy with Chris’s friendly and easygoing nature. We knew it would be a stress free and relaxed meeting. We caught up with Chris & Peter at their place the day before they left to run through all that we needed to know. Chris and Pete’s home was lovely and charming. The house itself was really beautiful and spacious with a lovely country charm about it. The property was quiet, peaceful ... MORE

KERRI & NICK (Jun 2024 - 2 weeks)
Staying at Chris and Pete's place was a lot of fun. Setting the sit up was easy and Chris gave us a great handover of what Ben needed (food + rug), the garden (a small amount of watering and a lot of yummy snow peas, broad beans and herbs to forage), the kitchen and the rest of the house. We enjoyed sitting on the verandah listening to the birds and exploring the local area. Chris and Pete were available on the phone as needed during our 3 week stay.

CATHY (Sep 2023 - 3 weeks)
I enjoyed being at Chris and Pete's place. The horses are easy to take care of, they both love a brush. The house was comfortable, the kitchen is brilliant. This was a really great base to explore the area, wonderful drives, walks and scenery. Thank you Chris Matangi
