We are looking for an extremely patient and understanding housesitter for an extremely anxious, nearly 16 year old, virtually blind, deaf and a little demented terrier cross (Barbie). Barbie has a newly adopted sister (Aoife) who is an elderly, gentle brown labrador, who joined the family only this week (October) They are both much loved, but Barbie is highly anxious, and needs someone with experience, understanding, and lots of love and time to make her feel secure and comfortable. She sleeps rather a lot, but spends a good deal of her waking time looking for her "mum" We hope that having a new "big sister" will help her anxiety as she lost her much loved other "sister" last year, and has missed her dreadfully.
We live in a small seaside home (3 bedrooms plus an addition cabin and gym) on the edge of a beautiful bay with stunning views, We are seeking a single or a couple (preferably retired) who can spend much of their time being with Barbie while enjoying our home. We are situated 15 minutes south of Cygnet, this is a lovely place for a relaxing holiday in exchange for walking (not very far!) and feeding the dogs, and being their companions in our absence. Watering the plants and keeping the vegies alive is really all we would ask as well. There are kayaks on the beach for your use, and this is an idyllic spot for simply relaxing, reading, walking, and totally chilling out! Barbie and Aoife can be left if necessary for short times (there is a doggy flap), but the longer Barbie is alone, the more anxious she can become. It is a perfect "get-away" spot for the right people.
