Hello lovely potential sitter,
We are seeking someone to look after our house and bed and breakfast business while we are away. We would like someone on deck to keep an eye on the house and to look after our guests. Mark will do deal with communication with guests, bookings, payments, cleaner salaries etc, remotely. We just need someone to manage day to day things such as
maintaining the physical bookings diary and ensuring it matches with on-line diaries, daily communication with cleaners (we employ cleaners 7 days a week, so no cleaning duties for you, they also clean our house weekly), face-to-face communication with guests as required, fast response to communications from us, keeping the laundry under control during busy change-over dates. Printing breakfast menus (Mac computer) as required. Making and delivering breakfasts as required. (These are simple continental breakfasts, plus variations on eggs and other straightforward cooked options. No cordon-blue skills required.) Maximum of 3 breakfasts prepared on trays and delivered to nooks outside rooms. . Note: trays are carried down a set of stairs. While this sounds like a lot to do, in reality it would take no more than half an hour at most each day
We will remunerate you for your work associated with the business.
Our house is in Middleton Beach and has sweeping views of the beach and hinterland. It is a purpose built B & B with three guest suites, foyer and laundry on the lower level. Guests have their own parking and entrance from the side street. Our living area is completely separate and secure from the guest areas. Our part of the house is one bed, one bath. A queen-size wall bed is available in the sewing room if a second bed is required. The house is set up for two adults and isn't family friendly. There is garage parking available for one car and off-street parking for another. There is room in the cul-de-sac if you need to park a van or trailer etc.
We have fast internet and a smart TV for your streaming services. Foxtel is available for your use. The kitchen is a 'cooks' kitchen' and well equipped. The bathroom has a deep bath and walk-in shower. There is a separate toilet, and a laundry for domestic use. (Some of the linen from the business is taken to a commercial laundry, the rest is done in the laundry downstairs by the cleaners.) There is a pizza oven and BBQ in the courtyard. Underfloor heating provides warmth in winter and the seabreeze cools in summer. The garden is on retic and won't need much attention, but knock yourself out if you feel like pulling weeds or tending to the vege patches.
There are stairs from the garage to the house, to the suites and to the downstairs garages. This is not a house where someone with mobility issues will be comfortable. Sitters will need their own car, at least basic understanding of Mac computers, a reliable mobile phone and be happy to put together breakfasts for guests as required. (if this totally freaks you out and a potential deal-breaker, we may be able to manage it differently) There is no smoking of any sort on our property, inside or out - this goes for our paying guests as well.
This sit would ideally suit someone who lives in, or around Albany, or who wants to explore this gorgeous part of the world in a beautiful, house. The ability to do repeat sits would be great.
Breakfasts are served between 7.00-8.30, we typically serve them at 8.00. Early morning responsibilities (work, training etc) would clash with this timing, otherwise business responsibilities should take no more than an hour at most. You can easily work around regular working hours. If this sounds like your sort of gig, get in touch.
We have two short gigs : Our up-coming dates are 1-11th of November. If you are interested in spending summer in Albany, we will be away from about 7th Jan to about 16th Feb.
